Nice mate, love the minimalist look of your bars!

Where's those headlight ears from, they are my second choice if old school ones don't fit my look.

    Cheers Trav,

Got them from this dude http://www.motolanna.com/

Pretty nice ears, had issues with the round clamps but worked around it. They were about $110 delivered to Sydney

Nicely done Hearse. Especially like those toggle switches on the dashboard. Did you run into any issues setting up the Acewell?

Thanks Kaput - yea I was heaps stoked with the little mounting plate. Got some waterproof toggle switches from a marine store and its sorted!

Na no issues at all with the Acewell.

I followed this thread for initial installation: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=527749

With the generator wire - i ran a separate 12V LED to the center of my toggle switches and it looks mint! So if I dont charge the little red LED will shine. (photos to come)

And with the taco I ran the yellow wire to the coils to get the RPM from there, and i bought the BMW connector for the speedo - $40 and its a straight swap, makes sense!

I created an account on Advrider just because of this thread (My first post). I'm just starting a rebuild of a r80 that I have.

I wanted to ask you how you removed the motor from the frame :)

Any help would be very appreciative!

    Cheers!

    Gday Freddy,

Welcome mate - This is a kick ass forum for us airhead boys!

Best bet, take as much off as possible before removing it :) I removed my front electrics cover, air box covers and the top cover that sits over the starter.

with them out I was able to remove the engine, and put it back in to a freshly powder coated frame with no issues (note there was myself and my dad of course)

Get a build thread up with some pics dude - would dig to see them

    Cheers,

    Waz

    Thank you for the advice!

I love your build so far! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Do you happen to have any links to other Airhead builds?

    Cheers!-

    righto guys!

I have my handlebars sorted - with grips

im slightly confused with the fork setup at the top - only thing stopping the oil coming out is the end caps...

Painted my brake calipers - and baked them before mum got home...lookout!

The fork caps originally had a hard red gasket. I replaced mine with some fat o-rings. But those caps are the caps. Their intention is to kep the oil from coming out.

The gauge bracket was originally angled and the cutout goes over a bolt head in one of the holes to keep it from rotating around.

Gotta do something with that hole where the dampener rod used to be....There are nuts with no hole I believe. You can also just put a bolt and nut in it. Looks like it does something or other. Or maybe a panel button---a little plug in thing you use for covering holes in panels, hardware store.

Are the S fairing brackets intentionally on flipped? That notch on the end should flip inwards around the bolt head that mounts the stock gauge mount.

**edit: I see...the right one might bump into your brake reservoir. Move along, nothing to see here :)
