You definitely need to be able to do them yourself.
That said, in town I buy tires and get them changed at TFOG :deal

...but just now I remembered a day on Hayden that you decided to keep the SE :hide

...and Singletrack Sean on Tomichi that same day:

I finally got the bike ready, oil change, KN filter, wings slip on... Now of course need a remapping.

I have no tunEcu and no clue of switching maps. Any good samaritan in the area can help?

I will try to keep an eye on the forum to see if there is any riding I can join.

    Thanks for all the help

Hey y'all, yes I am resurrecting an old thread rather than start a new one! So, my brother and I are coming out late August this year... on a 950 and his 990... we've been out before and ridden stuff like Engineers Pass and some crazy trail that brought us down the mountain into Salida from the north. We found some ATV trails too that were fun. We rode up to Clear Lake and foolishly camped up there north of Silverton. I'm looking for some more challenging riding this year. I had heard about Pearl Pass and the Devils Punchbowl and thought they sounded awesome but then watched some videos in another thread... one with some GS guys doing Schofield Pass had me crapping my pants from here in Atlanta.

We are both good offroad riders. Any recommendations on roads to check out as far as something more challenging that won't become more of a chore than fun? I know thats kinda vague, looking for 9X0 rider input for that reason. To be honest, Pearl Pass didn't look that bad, Schofield looked worse, but that's just in the videos I watched so I could be way off base.

Most of our time will likely be the San Juan Mtns but also really like the area around Aspen and into Gunnison as well.

Thanks for the assist. If any of you boys are ever in Georgia, I'll happily return the favor. Cheers.

Blackbear, Pousekepsie(sp) Gulch, Imogene(Silverton area) can be interesting, Hancock, Tincup, Tomichi passes. American Flag, making it a loop thru to Spring Creek(Gunnison Area).
Do not think Pearl is easy, the baby head section is brutal , Schofield and the punch bowl is a chore also.
On my 990, I have done Tincup, Imogene, the Alpine Loop and Blackbear(I will not do Blackbear again on it)
I am a fair rider, do not push my limits and I do not think I would try the others on my 990 and enjoy it. That is what my little bikes are for.
There are some good ATV tracks in Taylor Park.
That is my 2 pennies worth.

I've been working on my PhD (Piled higher and Deeper) in preparation for an Alaska trip this summer.

Be honest. Is this going to make my butt look fat?

There is industrial velcro between the Rotopax and the case. When I mount directly to the rack, I've got a couple of bars it sits on to keep it from moving at all. The straps just need to keep it held down on the bars.
