    Update 9/1/11:

Jason from Rotopax wanted me to let everyone know that he is bumping the discount back up to 20%, at least through the end of the year!
    Coupon is still "ADVRIDER"

    Update 7/9/09:
ADVrider discount is now 10%. Coupon is still "ADVRIDER"
    ------

I just had a conversation with Jason at RotoPAX to ask some questions about the rotopax products and order some fuel containers.

He's a super nice guy, and I told him that lots of us are likely interested in buying some of these fuel packs. He offered to set up a <strike>20%</strike> 10% discount to ADVriders. Order from the web site and use the coupon code "advrider". He also said he would stop by the site and register, so he will be available to answer any questions. (note: I just tested the code on jasons site, www.rotopax.com. You have to not only put the items in your cart, but register as a new customer before the discount code will be accepted. But it does work properly once you register... Just saying cause I'm sure somebody will try it and wonder why the code didn't seem to work)

These guys where the manufacturer for the original Kolpin fuel packs that did not leak. Kolpin then switched manufacturers and went to a blow-molded design (these are roto-molded) and from what I've read people where very unhappy with the newer Kolpins. Jason says there will not be any leakage problems with these!
Jason is planning on a 1-gallon container with the same mount, which might be a nice option.

I'm planning on setting them up on my 950 Super Enduro, and will post some pictures once I get it all set up.

I ordered two 2-gallon gasoline containers in green (they also come in red. Dark red is premix, yellow is diesel, dark blue is kerosene) and a water container (light blue) as well as two mounting brackets.

UPDATE: New 1 Gallon Container and New Aluminum Mounts!

Jason has now released the 1 gallon fuel container, as well as a new aluminum mount for the Rotopax 1 and 2 gallon containers. He asked me to post up some pictures here as the pic's are not on the website. The new mount looks great!

    Single container mount...

Mount with extension, holds two containers...

One container mounted, double mount extension ready for another...

Again, you can mount a single container on these or use the extension and convert it to a double mount...

    Back of mount bracket...

    These look great!

Looks like the mount is $22.95 and the extension is $16.95, less the ADVrider 10% discount code "advrider"

Any idea when the one gallon will be available? And that 10% is great news.

Jason sent me pictures of the prototype 1-gallon... Hopefully available within 30-60 days at a target list price of under $40. (nice kitchen, Jason!)

And a shot of the two-gallon...

Jason claims completely leak-proof, even flat. And from what I've read about the original Kolpin cans, it seems to be good info.

He just sent me this info as well...

Got mine in the other day. These are really nice... very robust construction compared to the crap can you buy at Walmart and the likes. Thanks again!

I am thinking of getting one fabricated to fit behind a set of Dirt bagz bars like a slide in from the back maybe. obvioulys clearing the rear wheel, but secure enough to stay put on a ride. Just thoughts.

    Fellas,

I just spoke with Jason at RotoPax and learned the following:

    1. The 1 Gal option is rolling out in about 3 weeks. I'll call him mid-March.
    2. The 1 Gal option will first come in red. Jason indicated he would consider doing a limited run of 10 units in a different color if we got an order together. Would be nice to not advertise the extra fuel just hanging around the bike.
    3. List price ~ $39.95
    4. He mentioned that eventually we might see a locking handle on the 1/4 turn mount. That's a great idea.
So, any interest in a limited run to do something in a non-red color? :D

Did anybody happen to get the dimensions of the new 1 gallon tank? Looks like it might be a good idea.

Whoops. Forgot to include the dimensions...

    9" x 13.5" x 3"

I'm going to mock up one in cardboard this weekend and see how it looks with my Dirt Bagz on my WR250R.

Also, I have no affiliation with these guys, I just happened to get Jason on the phone. Nice guy.

    Cheers! :thumb
