A little bit of messing around this morning...swapping out the non-function horn and prepping for the hare scramble.

Bruce gave me this rear rack a few months ago when he upgraded his. It's worked great so far, but in modifying this bike into my do (almost) everything bike, I'm thinking I need to make it a bit more useful

So awhile ago I snagged a KTM rear plate out of the flea market. Easy swap out when I need it for the KTM but just a bit small. But certainly functional.

Just need to mount some threaded tabs to the rear rack

The KTM rack is just a bit on the small side. So I'm thinking something a bit bigger that can be used with both the DRZ and the 990 would work well and provide options depending on the load out.

Knowing a couple people with plasma tables helps too...

figured rounding the edges would be a good option and cutting a few "reduce the weight" holes can't hurt either...

So that's the plan...now to get it moving....

Looks really good but a few things for you to think about. Anything I do with a plasma cut is coarse at best. My suggestion would be to make all the big cuts on the large power shear at work, then take it over to brake and make any edge bends you may have. I see you have a slot right where a seat cutout may need to be. I think for the slots unless you can get the shop to mill them out for you your next best bet would be to drill a hole on each end and connect with a sabre saw, and then some hand work with a file to knock the edges off. Maybe a few larger holes with a hole saw. The one I have now is longer and narrower than any I have had in the past and it seems to work really well, I don't seem to catch my leg on it at all.

I actually like this one so much I will either buy it to modify it for the Husky or see if he work with me to modify it, the Husky has a long tail so this should work reasonably well.

Anyone in the market for a DR350? Its a 1996 electric start SE model that I put together as a buddy bike. Has 13K miles and is in decent shape. I have about $1500 into it and would want to get that back to sell it. Good tires, newer chain and sprocket, new brake pads and battery - pretty much turn key. Starts up easily and runs well. 6 speed - can easily hold 70 on the highway.

I feel a bit better everyday. It has been easier for me this time since I know what to expect and how to get myself around whereas before everything I was experiencing was for the first time. And I have gotten all my bodily functions flowing again....wooo hoo!

Was out if F-burg this afternoon...long distance bikes all over the place...particularly liked the one with a small keg as a back bumper...hoping it was an aux fuel tank for the bike and not the rider

Looking to see if the budget will support it...

IF the "IFs" work out, I plan on going...
