just got my mirrors today and have a question about the ram mount ball, I understand this part goes into the stock thread/hole where the stock mirror used to go. But on the ram mount/ball, is there a way to tighten it down? on the stock mirror the end, where the threading is, you can use a wrench but on the ram mount/ball it's round... any ideas?

thanks

Put some red locktite on the thread and use vide grips to snug it up on the aluminum part below the ball. BUT, this will leave teeth marks in it. Not a huge deal IMO.

I just use the clamp/mirror to tighten the base down. Blue loctite helps keep it there - but you've always got the right tools to snug it back down if you use the clamp/mirror.

YMMV

So, if I'm reading correctly, the reflector is held in place physically by the bezel and adhesively by silicone, correct?

I did manage to break one of mine (as well as the aluminum RAM arm holding it and one of my Stanton head guards) on Saturday, and I'm trying to figure out what I need (aside from the reflector itself) to repair it. I'm guessing that I'll need to scrape the old silicone out and clean up the housing, but any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You've got it correct. Carefully pry out the old pieces of reflector, clean off the dried silicone, lay a bead of new clear silicone, press the new reflector in, and presto, wallah, hindsight!

Just bought a XT225. The first thing I purchased for it was a tank of ethanol free fuel the second purchase will be a set of these mirrors.
