Just so I get registered, no chance of an F5 podium finish this year.

Well, I was originally planning on taking the first two weeks of Jan off this year to follow properly, but work took care of that... Planning on joining in the wee hours as much as I can though! Wish I could be down there shooting photos and video. Need to get on that for next year... I'm sure you wouldn't mind a fellow Canuck experienced in photography and video no? :evil

Then 2014... add brazil to the mix maybe...?

I think Dakar "south america" has got a lot of potential for the coming years...

for the folks who think the event is going "home"... don't book any tickets to Africa just yet...

Its been rumored for a while now that Bolivia would be included in the mix in 2013, and the Peru will be left out. I think that will change after this years Peru experience. I'm predicting 4 countries Argentina, into Bolivia into Peru in to Chile to finish at Valpariso.

I Don't think we will see Brazil for a while yet.

Well... it seems luck is going against alot of the entrants for this years' Dakar. Bikes going to wrong countries [Quinn Cody], Bikes not being shipped to final destiniation [South Africans], and now to add to the list.. Dakar Team GB had their villa broken into, whilst at scrutineering.

Laptops, helmet cams, knee braces, boots, riding kit, laptops.. the lot. Sounds bloody awful, really hope they have some way of finding a solution.

If anyone has any contacts in the area that are able to assist with locating equipment that can act as a replacement, please reply or PM so I can forward any info.

Appreciate any help that can be offered

    Ben

Me too. I am pretty sure Brasil will be out for a while mainly because of the dos sertoes deal.

I dont know how ASO calls that. In sailing this would be a DNC or DNS.
