Yep.. this is just bad. I posted the article to Facebook, and asked that it be shared around.

I'm willing to bet that when/if these fuckers are found they did this to sell to overseas buyers, most likely in China or Russia. Huge market for Native Amercian items over there for the rich who like to collect artwork and ancient Geologic items.

They probably snapped some pictures a while ago and circulated them until a buyer was found. Then they went and harvested the goods.

The real shame is that even if they are caught the penalty wouldn't nearly even fit the crime. It's nearly impossible to prevent things like this from happening. Maybe a shoot first and ask questions later appraoch would slow'em down a little.
