R1150GS pics of a different sort (IR cam)

Got a new toy to play with at work, took it home over the weekend to learn how to use. Will be able to get some better pictures after i get some practice, but here are some to get started. Want to see pictures of anything in particular, let me know.

These are after coming home from a 3hr trip, nearly all highway, maintaining around 80mph. Bike sat for under 10 minutes before i got the camera out.

WOW, I want one of those. Maybe not. Wait, w/ all that temp data I might get depressed. But I might save my scoot.

Maybe I could just have fun scaring the crap out of other riders.

Really those are interesting pix. Raises questions as to what lubes you are using? How many miles on the bike?
Heck, I could ask questions all day & run test using different lubes etc.

Totally. I want to see if i can get someone to take pictures of the bike while cruising down the road to see what kind of temps it is showing.

Running Mobil 1 15w50 in the motor (~5400 miles old), probably mobil 1 75w90 in the trans and FD (~10k miles old). Bike is around 50,500 miles.

sad thing is the camera is worth more then the bike.

How bout pics of the cat converter and transmission? I'd be interested to see how hot the tranny case gets compared the cat, and if that heat seems to be mostly along the bottom of the tranny next to the cat.

Tried that one, cat was definitely hot, picture didn't come out. I'll try to get a good one this week. I, too, was thinking of that.
