going north, it's past gorda, there's a road on the right with splits into 2. it's the left one and little steep.

that dirt road is like gem hidden in the pacific coast (one of the best riding places in the nation).

After looking at all the pics, I am ready to do it again. It's already been said a bunch, but Joel, those tracks were awesome.

Next time though on the end of the ride we should all gather up and route through State St. in SB instead of Montecito. We could make it a an ADV Rider parade.

we were lucky found this site with water (spigot) and shade, and quite big enough for all of us + bikes

overall, it's not a bad place to camp, especially after the guys rode to king city and brought back refreshment and lots of ice.

the night was uneventful and many of us rested well. unlike kcl, there's no owl overhead serenading us.

btw, camping is $12 for 1 vehicle, and $6 for each additional vehicle. yes, a motorcycle is = 1 vehicle.

todd, yes we can plan another ride in october perhaps.

took the easiest dirt road along the way



by taking the detour, we avoided san luis obispo



taking a break before getting on hw154 (cachuma highway)

Just picked up a KLR a couple days ago and wouldn't mind tagging along. I'm a Californian as well. Ontario.

refugio road will take you to w.camino cielo; there's a road closed sign (cars will have a tough time going up)

Hey Guys, I was wondering if the Coast Ridge Road is n00b friendly?
I have a freind who will be here from CO in Oct for the Horizons Unlimited meeting and was thinking of taking her off the beaten path this time. She's on a Tiger 800 "roadie", and has been riding a year and 10-12,000 miles, but only 20 mi of dirt roads.

And as long as we're selling CA, here's what Carrizo Plains looks like in the spring time.

Thanks Joel for RR and the great tracks once again. This is a must do noob ride for Southern & Central California Riders.

JustKip, yes it is noob friendly other than couple sections. But you can always help him out when he needs it.

Sorry I missed this one, you guy's know some of the best roads on the Central Coast.
