I'm looking at buying a 660 tenere. I'm researching from Europe but logically Mexico could be easier. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get started? My Spanish is non existent. I was thinking if I could find a dealer close to the USA border. Fly down. Ride back. I have a company who can do the import into canada stuff for me. So any suggestions? Is this possible? Thanks
There's a brand new 2012 model on the floor at the Toluca dealer, they're asking 125,000 pesos but sometimes you can get a nice discount for paying cash. The current offer for current model bikes that I've seen is 146,000 if you finance and 130,000 if you pay cash.
What you propose is a good way to pay too much for the MC. It only makes sense based on the fly down, ride back notion, otherwise buy a MC in TX,NM,AZ or CA(or wherever else the deals are) and ride down and back. More MC's & cheaper too. Whats a couple of days when you want to ride there in Mexico anyway?
The problem is none of them sell the 660 tenere as it's not sold in the USA or Canada. If it was I'd have one in my garage already. I don't particularly want to ride in Mexico. I just want that bike. I'm also exploring just getting one shipped from Europe.
