Thank you very much for posting those pictures. Please do it again if you can. Going to post more on fb in a min.

We are in silverton colorado. We just did ophir pass. It wa completely awesome!!!! Got to say, our bikes didnt like it though. Had 1 flat tire, 2 oil leaks, one broken clutch spring , 1 cluchbasket came off the tranny shaft and thats it. Not bad for one day ;)

Looks like the clutch nut just backed off. Anyone unfamiliar with this part - the tabs on the retainer are supposed to be bent into the nut, not all 4, just one or or two that are lined up when the nut is tight.

This is the kind of stuff that I have heard with relation to these Lifans. Not any kind of a failure, just things coming undone and needing a little twist of a wrench and sometimes a little locktite.

    $$$$$$$$$$ Update $$$$$$$$$$$$$

So we came out of silverton co and went straight for the passes.. well..even with rejetting thelil bikes didnt have enough power with our load and ourselves. Had to have one person riding and 3 people pushing. We had to find another route around. Bummer but we did give it hell. Called it quits on the pass do to safety and for the life of the engine.

We are now down to 3 riders. Started with 5. One had to go back to Hawaii for the birth of his child. The other guy split open his knee.

We just passed over the continental divide. Had to have the bikes in first gear wound out the whole time to have enough power to get over the pass.

Thank you to all who have been posting pictures for us. There are more pics that were posted on BOTH of our facebook pages. Look for Cycles East and please steal our pics and post them on here.

Currently in salida colorado awaiting tires that we ordered. The knobbirs fall apart with out over wheighted bikes. Had to order trial style tires.

I found the Cycles East face page, what was the name of the other? That one had better pics the other day.

Salida? Look for Fat Tees shop and get some wood fired pizza...damn tasty.

My wife and I spotted you guys along Blue Mesa Reservoir with all the big trucks bearing down on you. You are some brave bastards! I hate riding our Ural on that stretch, because the truckers try to cut some miles by using that route, and they are merciless.
Hope the rest of the trip is good! :freaky

Not going to repost the bloody carnage shot, but, it sure looks like the kind of damage a $25 set of pads would have prevented.
Be prepared, so you can continue to persevere !

This makes it even more amazing that Nate (the Postman) crossed a 5,000 ft higher pass on a CT with the stock Honda engine!

Yep, Fat Tees (inmate Hayduke) is your friend in Salida. The "hard" part is over. The cruise down to Trinidad and then into Oklahoma will be easy by comparison.
