    The guys at Sandia BMW in ABQ hooked me up with this beauty on Friday. I tried to do the Super Tenere thing for a year after selling my GSA and HP2e. It's so good to be back home...

    I like the look of those, but is there any practical use for it? Not sure what it would really protect, but I am no expert on the subject thats for sure

    At speed, the wind whistles through the holes and that effectively repels deer.:deal

    Actually they are supposed to protect the tank when the pig takes a nap.

    Yeah ... I wondered the same thing. But then again I thought the same about these fog light guards ....... [IMG]

    But decided they looked cool enough to add them anyway. I figure it is the GS version of a Harley's guy's chrome. :lol3

    I put these on after Sasha took a nap that broke off a OEM fog light, please let me live in my delusional world thinking these will prevent that from happening again :evil

    So first off a thank you to Aarrff,for the nice deal on a pair of Zegas. All the hardware was there and I only got through a half of a beer on the 2nd side:freaky

    Now we'll see if some good Southwestern sand and sun can burn off those gawd awful northern stickers:rofl:rofl

    So she's an 09 w/only 3,600 on the clock. This is when I bought her (1,900 on the clock). I picked her up south of Dallas and rode her home to Colorado;

    [IMG]

    I just upgraded the bags,and added some dashboard candy.
    Here she sits ready for a trip to Santa Fe, ahead of the weekend Colorado weather coming in;

    [IMG]

    Here is some of the dash board candy, (so far, basically a $1,000 XM receiver that I can't hear over my Sena) Any suggestions?

    The pink tie wraps are gone, and the 12V accessory now resides in the tank bag soon to be a USB charger.

    I assembled a switched power distribution, it only cost me $25 in parts and another $35 in connectors/hardware. I guess I could of got one off the shelf " but I built it Damnit"

    Dressed and ready to beat the weather. I'm riding an old road crafter suit, and a heated jacket underneath, but I'm still feeling a bit underdressed

    [IMG]

    I beat the nasty Colorado weather and am enjoying the Santa Fe sunshine with my buddy Barley, on my way to Flagstaff, Vegas, Death Valley, Santa Cruz, and back to CO via Reno, Moab?
    I guess I'll follow that up in a ride report though.

    Interesting! I tried to look at a used S. Tenere a couple times, and the seller kept blowing me off. Then, the '09 GS showed up, and I took it. If I may ask, what do you like about the BMW more? The Tenere more (if anything)?
    I wanted to go the Yamaha route as a good dealer/repair shop is within walking distance of me, and its 40 miles to the BMW shop; but that's not that big a deal.

    The Tenere is a very good machine but the GSA is a very great machine. I tried to love the Tenere but always missed the boxer more. For me, it's 2.5 hours to the nearest Yamaha shop and 4-5 hours from the nearest BMW shop! Congrats on that 09!
