After much prep and some augmentation of the gear closet, I finally got my new toy out for some *real* off roading yesterday. I went to Hopkinton/Everett/Clough with some NESR-ites/LRRS cats. Lots of orange bikes, and even a few non-orange, yet equally bad-ass. Nevermind the riders that really knew wtf they were doing. Fortunately for me, they waited up for me and kept feeding me pointers. I lost count on how many times I hit the deck. But I left only hurt, not injured. So all was well.

I forgot my camera at home. Which was just as well because I kept mashing the ram mount I setup for it into the ground. Handle bar mounts are great for street bikes. Not so much for dirty toys. So all I have is a snappie from the parking lot.

Dear lord, this all day, every day. I can't believe someone would rock that place on a 950!! :eek1 That's either one helluva rider, one helluva machine, or most likely a mix of both. Wow.

Don't know that I would trust it as a replacement for a helmet for motorbikes but the idea is very cool. They have a similar idea in MotoGP where the riding suit has an airbag in it. Very cool stuff.

It is an interesting idea for sure. Wonder how stiff the collar is when it is in invisible mode. I also wonder is it a once use deal?

So instead of wearing a helmet on the head it is worn on the neck. Not sure I see the difference. How about all of the varying collars on jackets? Thought it was funny the brunette had a helmet shaped knit hat on.

They did reference the fact that all bicycle helmets look like mushroom caps. I still think it is an interesting idea, have not decided it really is all that practical. Looks like it would be hard to look left and right for traffic.

Either she doesn't have faith in her design and has a real helmet under that knit hat or the marketing people screwed up in the wardrobe check.

Looks like Burlington has sold out. Only handful of tickets left in Braintree.

Reminds me of On Any Sunday. Even has appearances with the likes of Malcolm Smith and Kenny Roberts. Prolly a few others some will recognize.

Nice vintage bikes and gear. Amazing anyone survived.:lol3

edit: Should also add there are a few NSFW 'flashes' if you're inclined to watch movies at work.

Yes, very much along the lines of "On Any Sunday". A real reminder of how I got into all this so many years ago.

    Thanks!

If anyone has tix, and for some reason can't go, I'll buy them off of you.

Don't get me wrong; I don't necessarily dislike these...

...but this one certainly answers the question, "Could they have made that thing any uglier?"

    If it's yours, my condolences.:lol3
