Rpm gauge wire...where do I tap in?

    Hey fellow GS lovers... I broke my speedo and replaced with with a Chinese knock off ... Does anyone know of an available wire to use to run the tach?����oh yah...it's a 2010 f800 gs super enduro.

    Well, I can't help you directly but this is my take:

    Crankshaft sensor and cam sensor send signals to the BMS-KP which are processed and sent to the I-Cluster for a tach reading via the CANBUS.

    So my question is....what type of signal is this cheapo tach looking for? Primary ignition signal or?????

    Sometimes you can get away with a wire wrap on each spark plug, and just set the pulse sniffer in your unit to match..... Sort of gangsta, but could work if you cannot find the coil's wires.

    I'm assuming it's primary ignition signal. Was hoping to not have to rip the top of the bike off but I'm going in now

    Thanks anyways guys. I did figure it out .on the right side of the bike you can access the wires to the spark plug...its working well too ... Yeehaw....

    Yes, I would love to know where the knock off comes from...
    It would be very interesting to see a build out of that!
