Why not have a list of open dealers for a quick reference. In the Metro Atlanta area , we went from 3 or 4 down to 1. I use them and feel I can speak for the quality of the character of the shop. Been buying and supporting them for 23 years. Georgia: Freewheeling , Douglasville , Ga. http://www.freewheeln.com/
I live in Los Angeles. There are a three or four dealers within 50 miles of me, but my favorite is Pro Italia in Glendale. They're something of a boutique shop, specializing in Euro cycles. I've had only good experiences with their sales and service staff. They are $$$, but I'd much rather deal with them than the slimy people at moto-mall type establishments.
^^^ I bought my first Triumph from South Bay which is no longer a dealer. I had my Duc serviced by Pro Italia and just bought the XRx from them. Nice folks that care about bikes and customers.
In southwest Ia. & eastern Ne. the dealer of choice is Baxter Cycle in Marne, Ia. Best dealer in the Midwest & sells bikes all over the country. He also ships a lot of vintage bikes to Europe. http://baxtercycle.com/
I live in Michigan. There are 3 Triumph dealers within one hour from our house. The 2 in Detroit are good. The one in Kalamazoo sucks. But, I buy & have all of my Triumphs serviced at Team Triumph in Janesville, WI which is a 5 hour drive, one way... well worth it! When we visit our properties in Maine, we also stop in at Street Cycles(Triumph, BMW, Suzuki Dealer) in Falmouth(Portland area)!
I have no problem throwing out a plug for these guys... http://www.triumphyamahaofwarren.com Great, "small shop" service the way it should be. I kicked the tires for about two years before buying and they were always willing to answer all my questions and I never felt pressured into a purchase. Finally bought a Triumph a couple months ago and the experience was top notch. Highly recommended.
I've been buying Triumph and Ducati motorcycles from Ed at Commonwealth Motorcycles in Louisville, Ky for over 10 years. I used to drive 110 miles each way to trade there. Now I live 15 minutes away. They treat me like I own the place. http://www.commoto.com/ Shep
Here in Vegas, Freedom has been good to me. Good service and everyone in there owns a Triumph of some sort.. http://www.freedomcyclelasvegas.com/
I've had many good experiences at Hermy's in Port Clinton, PA. I should also mention Augusta Triumph in GA, who let me change my oil on a long trip this past fall (mechanic was out). Nice folks and very accommodating.
Team Triumph in south central Wisconsin are great people. I plan on buying all my bikes through them. www.triumph1.com
There are a few Triumph dealerships around, but my purchase came from Eurosport Cycle. Knowledge level, shop feel, customer understanding, and willingness to help is top notch. http://www.eurosportcycle.com
In West Central Florida, and I use Motorcycle Enthusiasts at Springhill (west of Brooksville). Have purchased 5 bikes from them and always treated very well. Service is excellent and they don't charge a arm and a leg.
I'm in Hudson Valley NY, I have 3 dealers within 35 miles of me and bought bikes from 2 of them... the last one was http://www.bmgtriumph.com/ For new bikes they are Triumph only, Brendan the owner is awesome and there is no dealer pressure stuffed down your throat. Highly recommend.
Warning: I've dealed with Bert's Mega Mall (for those of us in Southern California) in the past and they tried pulling a bait and switch on me, and then they lied to me about certain facts of the warranty again. I will never do business with them again and I'm just passing along the warning.
In the DC area I've used Triumph Manassas (soon to be Motorcycles of Dulles). I was happy with the deal I got on my Tex and the staff is extremely helpful. My only complaint has been the lack of communication from their parts/service department. I always have to call them to find out if my bike is ready or my parts have arrived. I also want to recommend RPM Cycle in Dallas TX. On a recent cross country trip I sent them an e-mail from the road inquiring about tires. Lindsey in parts and Dave in service were extremely helpful. Lindsey got back to me quickly with options and reasonable prices on tires. Within the time it took me to get from one gas stop to the next I had a voice mail from Dave in service letting me know I should just call him when I get in to town and he would juggle their schedule to fit me in. I was in and out quickly, great group of people.
I'm in central illinois and went to Lafayette,IN for my new xcx. Dan and Mike were great to work with.
