Congrat's. What class will you be in? The car team I have been working with has decided not to do the 1K this year, so I don't have any plans for this years race, (so far :evil).

11pm start confirmed approved on the score website, but I haven't seen confirmed on the sched just yet.

I'm going to be chasing for a 4wheel team. You may have seen the thread a while back looking for a driver.

I'd like to help someone (or some team) this year as I am considering an Ironman run on the GRN KLR in a few years. It should be obvious that I'm crazy enough to make a useable team member. I'd like to know more about the possibility of pre-running this year also, where would I look for info on that.

Relax and have fun. Don't go to Paris de Noche without a lot of money in your pocket,( ask the vet's:wink:). Seriously though, you will have the time of your life :clap. Don't worry about the food and most places serve bottled water. The Italian restaurant a few doors down from the La Ventana hotel is one of my favorites. Take lots of pic's. Keep an eye on your stuff, all of it. Learn some Spanish, even if you only know a few words your effort will be appreciated. When you get back, you must post those pic's you took,(no pic's means it didn't happen :freaky)

Going to be a long and slow race. Leaving in the morning to scout mark pit locations. Will be running a pit for the Lucky Sperm Class 10 (Cam Theriot/Kash Vessels/Andy Grider) and a couple of Trophy Trucks at aprox RM 567. We will most likely have the pit set up in time to catch all of the bikes coming through.

So where are all of the Ironmen around here???

seems like low numbers but I see Alexander Smith is entered ironman. Seems there is a IM purse too. 11 pm start for bikes .... GNARLY

Got to spend 30 min with Grider's dad a couple weeks ago at the baja rally. What a great dude.. Said when he saw the 19,000 check that they are going back to bike racing .... until he was told it was peso's

Hey guys. I'll be heading across the border on Nov 11th (on a 525, no vehicle) so PM me if anyone needs a chase crew member or pit help. I've cased and raced the mil before so might be of help to a team in need.
If anything, I'm good at starting tire fires and know where a lot of the great taco stands are.:

Looks like the course is going down the long rocky downhill between Hwy 3 and Laguna Salada that was used by the recent NORRA/CODE race. That is going to be extremely challenging for the bikes that will be running that section in the dark. It's very rocky, very tight, lots of turns with steep drop-offs, and its a long frickin' downhill stretch.

Could turn into a real bottleneck situation for the cars/trucks later...

That tiki hut was awesome. Nothing like jager at 5 am to keep you awake.

This looks like a pretty rough one for bikes and especially ironman. Up all day with tech and reg then start a 900 mile race. :what:
