Where is it? Route? I'm always up for new stuff, but have zero interest in pavement as I'll be on the small bike.

It's north and east of Furnace Creek.

There are a lot of 4wd and off road events based there, I'd like to go see what all the hubbub is about.

It's only about a 220 mile round trip, but that's straight from Google and (I think) on pavement. I know there are a bunch of dirt roads there, I'll do more research in the next couple of weeks, but I'm planning on rocking the 800. :deal

I'm not a dirt bike purist, I like riding big, heavy bikes where they shouldn't go.

I mean, I can ride smaller bikes off road, but so can everybody else. :D

    Cool, keep me updated.

And remember who you're talking to re: big bikes and where they shouldn't go. :deal

I'm just more lazy these days to be frank, and am tired of bending wheels and breaking other parts on the pig.

Stu, Gillafunk and I plan to attend. I would be interested in doing a ride to Goldfield. According to a recent post in the Saline Valley forum there are 3 ways to get there. Some sandier than the others

Actually in some cases it's the mining companies The rise in gold prices have made it lucrative for some of the claims to be reactivated. Pleasant Canyon was graded last time I went up it a few years ago. Was a bummer

I went through Goler last weekend. A minivan cannot make it but it's not terrible - stockish jeeps went right up it. It's just loose gravel/sand leading to the rock so keep your momentum and don't fishtail into it sideways like when I blitzed it.

I rode it in early March 2014 (must have been after it was graded) and didn't even notice / couldn't tell where the steps should have been.

We also hit snow/ice/soupy mud on Hunter Mtn but it was a fun challenge and passable - recommended!
