Well to make a long story short, I sold my last GS Adventure when my company sent me to South Africa for a year and it was almost impossible to get it imported. I instantly regretted selling it but at least it was in good hands. Another FF on here (HORSEMOTO) bought it and put 40,000 miles on it the year and a half I was gone. He says it is still going strong with no issues so I'm glad he has enjoyed it! So I spent that year and some change planing my next GSA build, what would I do, farkles, wheels, suspension exhaust etc??? I returned home in August and purchased a new 2012 GSA in late October. So here it is and I can say I am pretty happy with the changes I have made so far! A few of the major changes I have made are as follows: Ohlin's ESA suspension Woody's super light, super laced wheels Galfer wave rotors front and rear Akrapovic race header with no cat High flow K&N filter Power Commander V and custom dyno tune Sargent seat GPR steering damper BMW Navigator GPS Altrider skid plate and guards Machineart Moto front and rear fender extenders Machineart Moto Valve cover guards And much more little items......
Tell me more about the Akro header and Power commander and tune Using the factory can? I been looking in that direction for my '07
Well all I can say is the difference is night and day: the lean decel pop is completely gone, the hesitation and lag between 4000 and 5000 RPM's is gone and the throttle response is immediate. It basically just smoothed out the power and took away the annoying "lean conditions" they have on the bike to make emissions standards. Worth every penny!!!!
Thanks Jim! I just wanted two complete sets of wheels so I can keep one set up with knobbies at all times, so I went all in and did the rotors and ABS ring as well.
