I am getting ready for my new GS, and was looking at new panniers, which ones do not leak, on my 05, I have those micatech, but they do not make those any more. I am looking at many different brands and styles, any input is always welcomed thanks to all James
I have TT Zega Pro's on my 2014 GSW, but they're apparently the air-cooled model, I don't see any coolant system on them. The contents do stay cool and dry though...
Good lookin' GS, Rich. I have a GSA coming sometime next year in the same color. I ordered a set of Jesse Odysseys for the new bike. I've a set on my '09 GSA and really like them. Al Jesse's service it great! After a spill in the Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon, I need a part called a lollypop connector. I called them when I got to Joseph and ordered one. It showed up the next morning at my hotel in Seattle and all I paid for was the shipping. I tried the BMW Adventure cases and they were okay but I didn't care for the "aluminum dust" that put black stuff on my clothes. In a low speed spill, the aluminum opened up a bit when it pulled away from the plastic molding. I fixed it with a little silicone. The Jesse's just seem to be more robust. Mike
What do you plan on doing with the bike? If it won't see dirt, the Zegas are fine. They look good, but mine dented in after a 0mph parking lot drop. My Jesses and Globescout never would've dented like that. My Globescouts are the best I ever had and only got TT because they were destroyed in an offroad wreck. I'd order another set in a heartbeat, but the US distributer for some reason doesn't order enough to stock their shop so you always have to wait a few months for them to arrive from overseas. If they have what you need, I'd order a set.
Jim, I am trying to catch what you are saying, about the weights, I looked for weights and did not find them, perhaps you would be so kind as to give me additional information. thanks Jim

I have personally weighed the Jesse bags for a variety of models. They ranged from 12.9 to 13.3 pounds per bag. Jim
My experience is different from that of Hikertrash. My '05 (with original Zega bags, not the Zega pro) was dropped in the dirt, often. Typical damage was to the top where the strap loops bent. Blame that on the the camping gear. Real damage was always done on asphalt. Even then a 40 MPH low side did little more than grind away the portion of a corner. The almost high-side when I couldn't quite recover after losing the rear end due to some stupidity bent up one of the bags a bit. A medium size hammer on one side of the damage against a larger hammer (used as an anvil) on the other side of the damage was usually all it took to get things back in working order. And looking decent, too. After that almost high side event the top lip was bent so I used a hydraulic jack to get it back in shape. I brazed up the bottom where it caught on some very rough pavement. All that was done at home. I never had the bags not get me home. That is durable enough. I'm hoping for equal durability with the Nomada cases on the GSW.
I finally received my Globescouts today. I'll throw them on the scale along with the mounts to get a weight. Purely a guess, but they don't seem any heavier than my Jesses I've had on a previous GS.
I just weighed my Globescout 35l special set. With mounting hardware they are 35 lbs for everything. Just the bags weigh 27 lbs for the pair.
I'm going to the bike show at the weekend, but apparently, there's a UK company that has produced top loading metal panniers that will go on the bike using the factory fittings, and not the scaffolding. I'll be sure to get some pictures and info when I go.
