Visualize inner tubes tethered to the quickity zip-line above the lagoon: 'hold my beer'-worthy or not?
Bring 'em and let's find out. We're gonna need some strong rope, too.

Kenny, we'll need you officiating and taking embarrassing photographs from the kayak. :lol3

Really excited about this trip. James just fixed me up with a Renazco seat for the KLX. Tried it out on Sunday for about 50 miles. Really sweet. Maybe I should have one made for the kayak.

If your kayak looks like this, it can't hurt.

How rough would it be for a Tacoma 6cyl to pull an 18' toyhauler up to Lake Pillsbury? Are there super steep hills? I've heard the road up to Penny Pines is a slog with a trailer.

Last year Bogeyman brought his F-350 in with a toy hauler in tow.
He came in through Redwood Valley instead of Upper Lake.
If you come in from Upper Lake through Penny Pines there is a section a few miles
long with a number of switchbacks, but the switchbacks are all paved.

Either way, you not going to go real fast, but it shouldn't be a problem.

It's an F-250. Diesel. I hauled a 23' ToyHauler with one dirtbike in the ToyHauler and two in the truckbed.

There was one "iffy" section last year where there was an off-camber drop off. Thought I was gonna lose the trailer off the edge for a second or two, but it worked out. I hope they're going to send the graders out there this year before the rally.

I agree. I'm planning on bringing the ToyHauler again. If you come via MiddleCreek and up past Penny Pines, to call that road "paved" is stretching the definition of a paved road. It's more like a 5 mile stretch of potholes and (climbing) switchbacks loosely connected by patches of asphalt. :lol3

Very tempting! Just received my Sheetiron confirmation but I may sell it to attend this. I may have a conflict during Sheetiron and this sounds more fun anyway.

I'm thinking about hauling my bike up inside my sprinter van this year. Its been a long time since I made it to Pilsbury via middle creek. Is the route manageable in a vehicle that is notoriously bad on anything slippery?

Sprinters have a habit of going in to one wheel drive at the slightest loss of traction. :arg

BayAreaRider was kind enough to have me come up with him for Friday and Saturday night! Looking forward!

    Questions:
Stock tank WR250R. I get about 90 miles to a tank (heavy wristed). Do I need to bring a "roto pax" as well or will there be gas available enroute's?

Don't have GPS, Will the Forrest Service have trail maps or ??? Please advise.

If you're at all unsure, I'd bring it. Better to have it and not need it than to run out and not have it. I will be riding with mine, not sure if I'll have my big tank also.

I called a few weeks ago to the Marina and they said they did have gas for the boats preseason ( one would have to carry a can from the dock to bike ) and before I think May 30 they don't or probably wouldn't have their main tank filled yet. Main tank you can drive up to and fill directly. I think it's regular...can't remember if they had Premium for the boats.

Gas in Potter's valley about 15miles SW
    Gas in Stonyford 45miles East
    Gas in Covelo 63miles NW
I though there was a small store near the lake that also had Fuel but I could be crazy.

I'm sure some locals may add more tidbits.

I bought a Forest Service map for $10 from their website and it came in a week. It is good quality and water-resistant.

    Hi,

Anybody got space for an extra bike on a trailer from close to Livermore?

    Thanks!
