Open to offers on the following 690 RR, will need a bit of refurbishment work before it can be raced again... New clutch plates required: Head modification means valves are now easier to adjust: Ohlins Damper shows it's quality - although new internals required: Nav tower - wiring may need to be checked: Makes you f**king cry doesn't it? Jx
Just saw the pics in the other thread and was gonna ask if any parts would be for sale Got any more pics of the entire setup
2 months ago I had come close to the same thing on my rally bike out near Randsburg.. the fuel line chaffed at about 5 hrs of riding and when I came to a stop it .. POOF.. started on fire.. I didnt see it, I was actually astride and had earplugs on, a guy with the group was saying something pointing, I told him he sounded like Charlie Browns teacher and to speak up.. the second time I read his lips.. FIRE... lucky we had about 5 guys and ganged up on it with handfulls of dirt and rock with camelpacks dousing.. once the vent hoses got lit it took all of us practically. NOT FUN... CHECK YOUR FUEL LINES OR RUN SOME PROTECTION OVER THEM!!!
Shit, I hadn't seen this before. That's my old crazy friend Ennio's bike. Bummer. But, knowing the way he rides and crashes, the bike is probably now in better condition than if he had finished the Dakar on it. By the way, I WILL have a good KTM 690 RR for sale very soon. Needs no work. This is the one that won Stage 5 of the 2009 Dakar, but with a new big-bore 701cc motor and full service. Legit CA title and license plate. fun fun Charlie
I will take the rest of the exhaust / muffler, it seems it is in good conditions ! Could you send it to me for a good bottle of red or white wine ? Mic.
complete with complimentary KTM ash-tray. So... are you gonna' make a bid on it Tony... I'm sure he's open to offers at the moment...
I was gonna guess marshmallows. Off-Topic -> When in the shipyard many moons ago, with the crew living on a berthing barge, an inexperienced cook was charged with lighting the charcoal grills for a steak supper. He couldn't find the lighter fluid so used diesel fuel instead. That didn't turn out well.
is that the bike that burnt on the 2010 daker on (i think day 8 or 9),cos i went past it while it was still burning ,i felt so bad for the guy i couldn't even look..
No, it's bike #88 from this year - caught fire a couple of days after rest day... Patsy brought the remains back with the others... Jx
