I believe it was that and the increased cargo capacity of the Adventure Rally plus the internal harness with the water bladder.

He did add armor to it to comply with the regulations though. Sort of a blend of the Badlands and Rally. :gdog

Maybe I missed it here but what ever happened with the spectator that donated his CS sprocket nut/bolt to Ned. Any follow up with him? :ear

Ordered my xxl on 3/1. Any chance I could get it before my Death Valley ride next week? :1drink

Edit: my bad. I paid but didn't include a shipping address. All fixed now, thanks!

    Ned,

I really enjoyed your slide show presentation today at MotoGear Outlet and meeting you. I was the guy who had the missing Dual Sport Riding DVD when I opened it, I appreciate you getting me a new signed copy! As soon as my broken finger is healed I look forward to getting out and practicing the techniques.

I just received the latest issue of ADVMoto magazine. Nice interview with our hero. Five pages for Ned...only six pages for Despres and Coma combined! :thumb

What issue is this in? I got onto my ADVMoto account last night and the most recent I found was the March 03, 2012 version. Is there something newer that isn't showing up yet?

    Thanks!

The cover lists it as May/June.

I think you said... "witches night" as a feature to watch out for. What DID you say, and what is it?

I believe you are referring to a witches eye. Those are circular little depressions that suddenly appear, seemingly randomly in the high dunes. They are also in the lower dunes as well although less frequently found,,, if I recall correctly.

They will ruin your day if you ride straight into one.

Hilslamers overview was pretty spot on as I recall.

You will often find those little bastards on the opposite side of peaked ridges (downwind), usually where two or more ridge lines come together. But they can be in the oddest places.

I've seen a few vids already where they could be in the saddles as well....
