:clap 2009 sachs madass 125 has passed the epa testing, and will be rolling onto the streets of america for the first time this january. these great little urban assault vehicals have reported over 125mpg and will get more attention than anything on two wheels. i got to ride the one that was at the dealer expo last year, and can say without a doubt that it will be a huge sucsess. just look at places like thailand, germany,or austalia to confirm that statement. they love the sachs madass 125.

I saw Pierspeed's MadAss 125 at Amerivespa this year. They weren't letting anyone ride it, but I sat on it and it seemed like it'd be a lot of fun. As I recall, the price was going to be reasonable, too (like $2400).

Here's a link to a pic of my girlfriend experiencing MadAss.

I'd much rather have an X-Road.

Sachs will sell a lot of Madasses, though. They have a look young riders love.

A local dealer has had a few. I've deliberately avoided going to look at them because I'll go into full-scale begathon mode to get it. :lol3

(and I like the X-road, too)

I'm with you. I think it would be a struggle for me to keep my money in my pocket if those were being sold near me.

I've wanted one of these ever since I first heard the word "Madass". :tb

I can get to work either via the interstate (11 miles, 20 minutes) or surface streets (10 miles, 25 minutes). The surface route would be perfect for such as this...

Cant wait until one of you guys buys it and posts a good review. Maybe some guy like wan will take it across the u.s.! That would be a blast.

The madass doesnt look very practical. And definatly doesnt look as comfy as a scooter.

What are the advantages it has over a scooter?

mainly i see the agility and lightweight mobility. downside is a buncha pre-teens will want to stop and ask you questions because it looks to close to a bmx

True, not much storage space or wind/weather protection.

But apparently, you have entirely missed the point... it's just COOL! I mean, it's a scooter called "Madass".

Well, obviously it is not going to be as practical as a scooter. It's not a scooter, it's a motorcycle. Advantages: looks cooler, better acceleration, lighter, handles and stops better. Not going to be a great grocery getter but looks like a totally fun mini-hooligan bike to me. I'd like to have one.

I wouldnt call it a motorcycle even thou it technically is. It resembles a moped.

Can a moped be "cool"? There is something rearlly off about it. But the stats on paper look great. Manual transmission, 200lbs, mopedish looks for parking...

I'm sure we can slap on a couple of Jesse cans on that, and it'd be plenty useful. It's usefullness (in the eyes of many) is that it isn't scooter-shaped.
