As Steve Martin might say, "Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUSE ME!" -------------------------------- I reckon EVERY post might be the first of a new thread, avoiding any "sea of other comments." And, unless you started it, EVERY thread is "SOMEONE ELSE's." This thread, certainly, is YOURS!
i know there are universal stands but im not sure how well they would fit how much of a difference did removing the baffle make?
How similar is the KL250 motor to a KLR? I came across a very nice low mile 1980. It would make a sweet city bike.
Finally progressing with my 86 KLR250 project bike. Looks like it went through several owners/pseudo-mechanics/ham-fisted yokels prior to this ham-fisted yokel. Got stumped nailing down the no-spark issue, friend came by and helped take the wiring harness apart for the second time and discovered two issues. One was that the CDI ground wire had burned off the stock harness solder point, and the second was that my eBay CDI was dead. Stock CDI worked though Next up, replacing the water pump gasket. Apparently you do need to have clean mating surfaces
Just bought a 97KLR250 so my son could use it for his first few months of riding, something light and easy to train on. Any idea where I can get a replacement fairing? Everything else is mint except that

Hmmmmm, is this the same as the 97? Is there a site that sells replacement plastic that carries stuff for the 250.
Not trying to be dismissive, skypilot, but . . . doesn't your Kawasaki dealer sell these parts? I know OEM side covers are available, and . . . KLR250's were marketed as late as the 2005 model year. I know of no aftermarket plastics for KLR's of any displacement. Odd, I thought, since so many were manufactured, remaining virtually unchanged over a considerable number of years, but . . . apparently, the industry has decided insufficient market exists for alternatively-sourced replacement KLR plastics.
