Just purchased a 2013 f800gs which came with the Metzeler Karoo 2 T tires mounted on it. Looking for a recent review on them. Haven't ridden them yet and was curious what to expect. Performance on/off road. Longevity and ect.

So far some of the reviews online haven't been good, but most reviews seem to be out dated and don't distinguish between T and non T tire.

On another note of a 50/50 tire, looks like the Heidenau K60 Scout gets great reviews.

    Metzeler KAZOO????

Are you making a joke, or did you really think they were "Kazoo"? (And it you were joking, anyone doing a search for the correct name would of course not find your thread.)

You probably mean "Karoo" and the Karoo 2's have just been updated with the Karoo 3's which seem to be generating a lot of interest.

I'd every much like to try a set of Karoo 3's and might do so when my TCK80's wear out.

No problem, but I don't think you can change the thread title. At least when looking at all the thread titles it still shows up as Kazoo.

Good looking bike and good taste on color....mine will be identical. It should also have the Karoo's. It was built 2/28 and should arrive at port in NY on 3/28 and just in time for spring:clap

I don't expect the Karoo's to last long based on what I've read. I hope to get 3500ish miles out of them and then I'll try either the TKC's or the K60's.

I wanted to try the Karoo 3s but my dealer didn't have them so I went with TKCs. Next time around...

I found the 'T' lasts about as long as a TKC on the rear. (Not very long).

My dealer told me that they are great but very $$ (a BMW dealer telling you that :huh) about 280€ front and rear with mounting

How many miles did you get on the rear? What about the front?

Karoo lamb is the best!:lol3 Rode there a few weeks ago what an awesome place to ride - The Karoo 3's look great! Just fitted an anakee 3 front not sure yet but its an exceptionally heavy tyre and its going to be a real bastard to get off if I have a flat:eek1

I didn't use the 'T' front, I used the more agressive Karoo 2.
I think the rear was done in under 5000kms, but can't say the exact mileage as it was some time ago.

thanks, that's about what I'm hoping for...about 3000+ miles. The Karoo 3's look interesting when I wear these out.

I just looked at my records and the tire did 4400 kms. I have a note beside it stating the tire was 'totally finished'.
