No motorcycles in this, but good pics. I was checking my mate Laurie Ford's sea kayaking site and came across his report of driving the Anne Beadell hwy with his American girlfriend in 2006. Some good pics of the track. Laurie is a bit of a legend in the sea kayak world, getting on a bit, tough as nails. He's the first person I know to have paddled solo across the Bass Strait. . . . . both ways, in 1982. Andrew http://www.laurieford.net/Anne%20Beadell.html

Dannoj, yeah he's a very interesting fella. A real handyman. When he gets a flat he pulls the tyre of the rim and patches from the inside. All done in the bush. He carries a lot of 12 volt power tools, like a little grinder for roughing up the inside of the tyre for the patch to stick. His house in Dodges Ford, Tasmania is totally self sufficient, water, power even a composting toilet and yet he runs computers, internet, microwave cooker, music system, etc from 12 volt system. And still paddles out into Bass Strait, making regular trips to Flinders Island with Elli, his lady. And out to Albatross Is on the NW coast. He's also an opinionated old cuss, but he has the skills to back his words, that's one of the reasons we're mates. There's not too many real originals left I reckon. Andrew.
fucked if i know, maps upstairs, glass in hand, movie on, i'll have a look soon. But south down the hwy and west seems about right
would the previous few posts fall into the category of high-jacking a thread :huh eaglebeak...great post...thanks
50 litres on the DRZ means about 750k hammering or about 900 taking it easy, at least on dirt. Less on sand of course
