BTW I don't do mud, they make fo wheelers for that crap.

I'm interested in hearing your opinion on them, especially on-road.

Oh they are going to suck on road and the way I push this bike on pavement I hope that doesn't bite me back. Off road is where I wanted to experience them. Plus I was getting sll kinds of cuts and small rock punctures with the Anakees.

Here's a little fix I did on the CRF70 tonight:
First a pic to show the problem:

My 6 yr. old can't reach the brake very well in the stock configuration. He has to completely let go of the bars to grab it. Not good when he's trying to learn! Actually I'm not sure how they expect anybody who is the proper size for this bike to reach it, it feels about the same distance as the KLR. Anyway...
A #29 bit and a #8-32 tap and I come up with this:

I used a 1" Allen screw but will probably swap it out for a 3/4 or 5/8. A quick adjustment of the brake cable and done!

FYI if you try to mount these by yourself good luck is all I can say. Me and Dan650 wrestled the things on and it was tough even using a no mar. The sidewalls just do not give any and it takes that extra person to keep the bead pushed down into the rim channel as you work the bead around.

They balanced out nicely, 2 1/4 oz on front an 3 1/4 oz on rear both with red dot lined up at valve stems. As for the ride its a bit rough on pavement. Plenty of low speed vibration, not as stable past 100 mph like anakees, turn grip is similar to a dual sport knobbies you definetely can't push hard in the curves. Biased ply is not radial tire stability.

Have not been off road yet tried to ride across my yard but it was too wet so I eased back up to pavement.

Thanks for the write up. I mount my tires with tire irons, so I'm thinking I would not attempt these.

Surprising the front was no easier than the rear to mount. With irons you would do serious damage to a wheel mounting these things. I have mounted a truck load of race tires which are known for stiff sidewalls but these things topped any of those. I am not sure what perssure I should be running currently investigating that. Lower pressure made them feel better on pavement verses S10 recommended pressures.

Penske rear shock and it was due!! Stocker just was not good enough for much of anything.

Got over 8k on my K60's now. Rear is getting a good flat spot, but still alot of tread on it and the front is getting a little more vibey. They are a bitch to get on but will definitely get another set.

New farkles: Triumph Tall Windshield, Twisted Throttle GPS mount over dash (moved from handlebar), Triumph Centerstand.... and a good scrubbing!

Will hit 6000 miles this afternoon. Had it since November.

Nothing exciting but new chain and sprockets really smooth out the ride. This was my first rivet master link. With the right tool, no problem!

I need to do the same soon. What chain breaker do you have?

I borrowed my brother's... It's a Motion Pro. It seemed to work well. Of course I didn't really have anything to compare it to since I had never done a rivet link before. I feel sure he wouldn't mind you using it.

Remember to dremel the flared part of the rivit before pushing it out or you might bend the pin in the tool - motion pro will send you a new one though :)
