How many miles are you looking to get out of tires? What damage would lesser tires cause when you needed them and they aren't there? I'm a new drz owner myself and asking the same questions.

I use it for alot of commuting and trail ride on the weekends so I have been looking at some Kenda's 270, Shinko 244. These tires are still aggresive but wont wear out as quick on the pavement as the knobbies. What do yall think. I am open to suggestions.
goldenboy shinko244s are great for both street and dirt. i love them. i have apprx 1000miles on them. i do about 70/30 street/dirt FS road.

Welcome. Yea i have knobbies now and love them cause I can rip on the trails and they are really good on the road to but want something thay last longer then 2-3,000. I use my bike to commute everyday and they wear out to fast. I have some friends with the kenda 270 and they love them. They have no problem hooking up in the dirt and work well on the road but I have read that they slide on turns and would rather not have that happen. So I just want to get some opinions from owners of these tires.

i nothing but love for the k270
i use the rear like a trials tyre, with a knob on the front

i have not had any issues with them, but i respect them as a 50/50 tyre.
they are great street tyres in the dirt and great a knobby on the street!!

So, I noticed a few people run the extended fuel screw. What is the advantage of this? I'm hoping it will allow me to make altitude adjustments?
