Mine will be here tomorrow, I missed the delivery today .... How long was install? I am using the bike as a daily commuter right now and cannot have it down (truck is in shop).
EASY install. took all of 45 minutes. Half of THAT was R&R pannier racks. VERY well engineered product, looks good, tucks in nicely, good instructions, very nicely done. . My hat is off to Cory for a great concept, well executed.
Sounds awesome! I will probably have to wait till this weekend but I also plan on doing a carbon fiber sleeve, if I can.
Installed mine last week and it installs and works perfectly!! As a bonus I'm running Giant Loop Siskiyou soft panniers w/o a rack system, the Camel Tank provides support to the pannier on the right side of the bike as the heat shielded silencer does on the left. Great system.
I have my tank sitting in the garage.... it is torture to not be in there wrenching away right now. So first off, everyone that has one already knows this but this product is truly one of the best manufactured products I have ever bought for a motorcycle, everything is packaged wonderfully, the item arrived in outstanding condition even though it looks like USPS played a couple of games of soccer with the box. The directions are in depth. I am super stoked to put this on! If you have a GS this is a must have item!
It is a trend.... I think. You have the big corporations, that crank out thousands of parts, and fling'em left, and right. I don't know how many things that have arrive on my doorstep that was damaged, and yet we have entrepreneurs like osso, who does fantastic work, and sets out to take a small busyness, to a new level of customer satisfaction. I also cares for the CF parts I make, and ship, and takes great pride in them. It is a great thing to see. We need more people that put's their pride in their work, like osso.
Will be interesting to see if one can be designed to fit Vario racks in the future. I very much like my current set up with the slimmer Vario racks, and the hoops adapted to them for various other luggage options. I know it would be a tight fit though...
I've got 10 K kms on my camel tank now and absolutely love it!!!!! Got lots of weird looks when I filled the tail light.....errr...aux tank tho.
Why I otta! Straight to the moon Alice. You guys are just jealous that I got the first one. When you finally get your bike set up properly, you can out ride a stock tank full easily. Friday I did over 800 miles in one day. Fuel stops are such a pain but now it's far closer to being a perfect bike - for me. Comfort seat and Camel tank - my top two best things I ever did to my bike. Oh, and .
I have to stop for gas first! Yeah I will be setting it up next weekend. Anything I should look out for or lessons learned? Install looks fairly straight forward and I have all necessary tools.
