I stopped by my local bike dealer today to try out some new gear. They are also the only authorized Klim dealer in the area as well. I tried on various pieces and ended up ordering a set of Overland jacket and pants. I even got a military/police discount. I can't wait to try them out. This stuff looks like it will outlast the bike!
Yeah, the Overland is like $275 on ProMotive. I'm tempted, but there isn't anything wrong with my existing jacket. But when it comes time to replace, I'm thinking the Overland will be it.
I'm new to this, but opted for the Overland jacket and pants . I was out two days ago wearing Under Armor 3 top and bottom, long sleeved flannel shirt and jeans and of course the jacket and pants. It was 40 degrees and I was running an ave of 65mph. Absolutely no air leakage and I was warm as could be. I am real happy with this set up . Can't speak to the" water-proofness", but I suspect it will be on par with the windproof qualities. rollin'
Really enjoy the Overland line, comfortable, stays cool when hot, keeps you warm when cold, dry when raining. The 3Do armour flexibility allows for unmatched movement. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
Thanks for the real work feedback. The gear felt amazing in the store. Light and non restrictive. I'm anxious to try it out on some trails myself.
I've been wearing an Overland jacket for about a week. Yesterday I rode 120 miles in rain that would have seriously violated my Tourmaster crap. In my case I couldn't afford the pants at the same time, so they'll have to wait until my next paycheck. Yesterday I opted to use my snowboard pants as they are way more waterproof than my tourmaster (which soak through in under 10 minutes in rain). Dry. Totally dry. I'm hooked.
I have this suit, and its amazing. I tried the Adventure but its more for the Dakar and too heavy for me. My Bad Lands Pro did a 2000km day last month, with wind and rain, and never failed. And the price is fair compared to Aerostitch
I hope I'm done for at least a little while. The girlfriend ordered the Klim Savannah pants, the only woman's model they offer, but it doesn't have Goretex.
+1 picked up a set of Element gauntlet gloves, and Klim socks. Suddenly the Alpinestar Scouts are way more comfortable!
Royal Tiger. Be sure to post up some pic of the GF in her new clothes. She will make them look outstanding.
