1190 adventure, which panniers?

I guess I've just gotten used to the wide build of the adventure class bikes. My C-14 does feel narrow with the bags being oy as wide as the mirrors after being used to the Kappa's on my Vstrom.

any idea how wide the setup is with the 33 and 46in?
toltal width mounted on bike?
they must extend past the handlebar width

They do a little, I know in my research that Touratech lists the widths as 39" a d 42" I believe but I don't know how wide the bars are. But from the top view I'd say the bars are close to 39".

I too have a c-14 as a second bike .. Great luggage .. Also have the givi e55 top case which I will use on both bikes

I'm torn as far as size because I dont care how wide it is for my use but I like the Touratech much better. And if I go to an 1190 the C14 will go to make room for it. I do have the Givi 52 with lights on the Connie that I might use on the 1190 though.

My brother has these bags on his versys and he really likes them. VERY functional, but not my cup of tea. I decided to go with the touratech alum bags... Tried and true.

I will order my 2014 model later this week. Now it is time to start looking for panniers and such.

I can't really decide between two. The GIVI trekker cases (not the outback ones) and the Trax Evo.

Which of the two is the best and does anyone have any experience with them?

I have the trax on my Vstrom, like the bags but the locks are CRAP!

How crap is crap? There are different degrees of crap .
You wouldn't recommend them over the GIVI bags and what about the GIVI locks. Are those ok?

The Trax locks are all caps CRAP... I had one crumble to pieces within a week or two of buying the bike. Very cheap... the bags are awesome, if only they would put sturdy locks on them.

The GIVI locks seem to be flawless (according to my brother.) I have never owned them so I'm just relaying his experience. He really likes the Givi's, I'm a fan of the Aluminum panniers... its a personal preference.

If the locks broke down within the week. Didn't you get new ones then?

I am going to trade the bike in for the 1190 with the same dealer from whom I bought the Vstrom. He can deal with the locks. I wouldn't replace the broken lock with the same crap anyway.

Then I will probably buy the Givi ones. Downside is that you always have the rack on the bike. I also don't really like the looks of the cases itself

You can get the SW Motech and then the adapters to make different bags fit.

I'm thinking of this system with Hepco Becker bags.

They are sitting in my shop waiting on the bike . The owner of Caribou cases suggested drilling the cases after doing a mockup as he has seen several 1190s with the case mounted above the level of the heat. This bike will be my two up hauler so I will need to ensure the passengers legs will clear the bags. I bought the Wings exhaust and plan to cut the right mount and move the right bag closer .

Did you get the Lock - It Side Carrier racks from Hepco - Becker?

If so what dealer did you get them from? And what price?

I went with SW Motech with the Hepco Becker adapter - they are nice but I was checking out the Lock - It system. I think it appears to use the KTM slide in mount and maybe one to a footpeg mount?

Why not go with the Hepco Becker Explorer bags? These look like they are going to be my choice.

Which Carabou bags did you go with? I was thinking of these but I like top loaders and theirs have wheels and handles on them.

Hi, Wont be long now. Yes. Got the locking HB racks and the locking kit , lanyards etc. 35 liter bags . I have the next size downonthe 690 and these are about an inch wider thanthe 31's. All bagshave handles and they are removable and replaceable. I like the top loaders but I have the inner bags from the other set and they wouldnt work. Got the Wings in 4 days fromPoland. wow .

Got the same service out of Wings and the pipe looks great!

I can't decide.

Zega Pro 2 Alluminium (not the anodised ones) or Trax Evo Alluminium.
Both are (almost) the same price. The Zega Pro's cost 10 euro more.

You can't quickly remove the rack with the Zega Pro's

And can someone tell me why one should take the anodized silver?
