***This Group Buy is now Closed*** May and June, 2011: Paul is doing a 15% off sale for pretty much all Highway Dirtbike (HDB) items including top clamps, lower clamps, handguards, billet protectors/dashes, handguard shields with integrate turn signals, anti-vibe threaded inserts, etc. A coupon is required to get the 15% off. Paul reserves the right to limit the number of participants. Simply post in this thread, or PM me, to be included. Coupons will be good until end of June, 2011. Look a few posts down for fitment guides, top clamp versions, etc. CLICK HERE for a quick overview on development of the powerlet top clamp, but then lots of great images of different HDB top clamp and handguard setups. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few of the many HDB items available. Top clamp with powerlet outlet installed. Top clamp with switches, RAM ball, and powerlet outlet installed. Various top clamps. All HDB top clamps are for use alone or with the HDB handguard system that bolts to the top clamp. Top clamp with billet protectors, key relocate, switches, etc. HDB Handguards available in Standard (shown) and Ultimate. Note that even the standard guards are much thicker and stronger than most other guards on the market and resist bending on impact. Many other hand guards, that I had tried, bent upon impact. They protected the lever and my hand, but had to be hammered and bent back into shape after even a minor off. I have yet to bend my standard HDB handguards. The Ultimate upgrade is recommended for middle and heavyweight bikes. One of the many available Billet protector / computer protector / dashboards. Various bar-located switch mounts. Fold-away convex mirrors. Lower clamps are available in several standard sizes or in any custom height. Rear turn signals. Optional front turn signals integrated into handguard shields. Various billet protectors. Anti-vibrate handlebar inserts.
The response has been overwhelming. Thanks, everyone! Coupons have started to be released and Paul is working hard to fulfill orders in a timely manner. Coupons will be good until the end of June and you can request a coupon up until that date. Thank you, everyone, for participating and making this a great success for Paul and HDB! I'm in. Interested in top clamp, handguards, shields with integrated turn signals, and foldaway mirrors. Let me know when it's good to go and I'll get my order in.
Common Sizes for top clamps. Top clamp sizes that have a slash "/" are a slotted top clamp which allows for fewer clamps to fit a wider variety of bikes. !!!Attention, this is meant to be a guide, please check your top clamp measurements with the Top Clamp Templates!!! You can print out a lifesize 1:1 top clamp template from HERE. Please note that when you print out the template, you MUST ensure your printer's auto-resizing options are turned off. These options will have names such as "shrink to fit" and "fit on page" and "auto-size". Turn off all of these or your lifesize template will not be lifesize (1:1). Once printed, you can double check by measuring from bolt-hole center to bolt-hole center to ensure your selected template is of true size. ie: 100mm is 100mm. 96mm is 96mm, etc. Honda CR/CRF-R/CRF-X 1 1/8” bars 106x38/40mm CR/CRF-R/CRF-X 7/8” bars 106x33/35mm XR 1 1/8" bars 100x38/40mm XR 7/8” bars 100x33/35mm Husqavarna* TE 610 1 1/8” bars 86x38/40mm TE 510, 450, 310, 250 1 1/8” bars 93x38/40mm TC 510, 450, 310, 250 1 1/8” bars 93x38/40mm *All Huskys will also need HDB lowers, stock lowers will not work with HDB Top Clamps. By the way, for those that are curious about part numbers, the RAM ball that fits in the switch mounts of the HDB top clamp is RAM part number RAM-B-236U CLLICK HERE which is a 3/8"-16 with 1" ball available at many online retailers. Full disclosure: There has been one incident, on an older, out of production top clamp, where the above method of mounting broke out the top clamp switch area after a crash. I know of no other issues and have run my GPS on this type of mount, without incident, for around 6,000 miles. Still, the below mount option is even stronger and, therefore, recommended. The following is RAM part number RAM-B-367U CLICK HERE that replaces one of the top clamp bolts. Mounted up, one of those looks like this (you can use it in any one of the four corners). For the original, full quality PDF version of the below fitment guide images, click HERE to open a PDF version of the of the HDB website. Note that the below four versions of the top clamp are the current versions. There are a limited quantity of previous top clamp versions available. I'll post those layouts and sizes, in this post, in the coming weeks. Of the current versions, only two are available for 7/8" bars (sorry, no "powerlet" versions for 7/8" bars): SX SXdx All four versions are available for 1 1/8" fatbars: SX SXdx ADV ADVdx
Do you know if fitment is the same for a BRP/Scotts setup on a 990 Adventure as the stock KTM setup? I don't have the setup yet, but will be purchasing materials from HDB to mate to this equipment.
Count me in! Need to know what top clamps will work with a Scotts damper on a '11 F800GS with the stock bar.
Paul mentioned that, in his experience, most sub mounts (BRP, Scotts, Applied Racing) use the 100mm width and a fatbar bar size, so the 100mmx38/40mm top clamps would be the most common top clamp that mates to those sub mounts. For example, Yamahas come with a 100mm width bolt pattern stock, so no change there. I verified that info directly with Jake H., at Scotts Performance Products, for the last group buy. For bikes with stock widths narrower than 100mm (96mm and 98mm are common), the sub mounts bolt pattern width should be verified. It might be best to contact Scotts directly to ask for a specific bike. I'll refrain from posting Jake's work email (web spiders, you know), but he, or someone, will respond if you email their main email of sales@scottsonline.com. Even with that verification, the sure way is to have your desired sub mount in hand and then measure it yourself before ordering the HDB top clamp and guards. I'll dig around for some more info and see if I can turn anything up. If gets verification from Scotts or BRP on mount width, please share the info here so we can add to the knowledge base.
in please. I need the anti-vibe kit. I bought the heavy duty handguards, fat bars, powerlet top clamp, mirrors for my WR250R. It's awesome and is surviving my handlebar forestry practice. The vibes are quite tingly on the highway. thanks!
In, bought the F800GS kit but did not think about the Ralle-Moto and need a different top clamp size. My best guess is a 108mm x 38mm/40mm with what looks like SXdx but with 2 extra holes. This brings me to a quibble, nay, an irritation, about the website. I see photos and I am holding in my hand a HDB that is not listed in the 3 (at least 3) documents that talk about top clamps. For the love of sanity can't they have a real catalog with unique numbers for items with EVERYTHING they make. It would keep us, the customers, from having to wonder, then ask questions, and use up a HDB employee time to answer those questions. As it is the information is scattered all willy-nilly and leaves things as clear as mud. /rant off So ya, put me down for that thing I want if they can figure out what they sent me, but in the size I need. Thanks.
I'm IN! I have a WR250R and I want: - ADV Top clamp (100 - 38/40) - Regular guards - a set of pre-tapped and insert installed bars - two mirrors Only problem I see is I can't figure out how to order the ADV top clamp with the set... I can't choose it when I am in the "Yamaha handguard set" page... I know there is a way to order the top clamp buy itself but it seems to force me to order a "standard" top clamp when ordering the guards... Will this be fixed for the buy?
Paul is still revamping the order pages. He hopes to have that done soon. He will be doing away with the make specific pages and doing what he did with the top clamp pages. Geckorider, The part number idea is a great one. I'll mention that to Paul. Since January, he has revamped all versions of top clamp and has phased out his original open bottom clamps and the first version of the powerlet clamp that had the powerlet holes on the lower part of the clamp. He has a small inventory of those still available in various sizes, but once they are gone, they are gone. The powerlet top clamps now have the powerlet holes on the upper clamp rather than the lower portion which made it work better with stabilizers, etc. Is your clamp like this one?
