The problem: Fuel-n-whatnot deteriorates the OEM lower tank mount bushings

Solution: Either Aluminum(2pc) or Delrin(2pc) $25 shipped to your door in USA or Canada. $30usd to anywhere else

    Want a backup set?
$40usd gets you 4pc of either material

You can take your pick between the aluminum or black Delrin. Both (2pc alum. 2pc Delrin) can be had for $40 shipped, so you can try each. Both of the materials hold up well. Some prefer aluminum because it will last longer, others chose Delrin due to it's self lubricating properties - you chose (it's simular to the 'what kind of oil should I use').

    How long will these last?
    I don't know.
The in-house "Test Bike" had 3000 miles on the Delrin bushings when I took it apart to inspect. There was no wear, visibly or by measuring . So they could last 10k or 50k miles.

I've been selling these for a while via Mudguts vendor thread for his Upper Tank Bolts. This thread was started so you could find these faster.

    PM for ordering info.

    Have a great ride!

Can this same bushing be used at the upper tank bolt? KTM lists both at 12x24x24.5 but the upper has a small shoulder on it where the head of the upper tank bolt lands. If the same will not work, will you make one that will?

BTW, after installing your delrin lower bushings, the tank feels sturdier than the day I bought the bike new and my seat latches without having to pound it in place again!:clap

Negative on compatibility. 100% positive on that.

I've made a few sets of Upper Bushings, and a couple of inmates have them as 'test units', but they are not for sale as of now. Been asked this a lot lately, but they are not ready for the market yet - don't want them out there unless I can stand behind them. Was hoping to pull apart the guinea pig this weekend to verify it's longevity, but received a rush order yesterday (and not going to complain), so it will have to wait another week or so.

There really is no reason to buy the upper bushings, unless you have already experienced a bolt failure... or your are the oobber anal preventative maintenance type... or your going on a long long trip... Yes, that general description will be in the Thread when it's started.
w/o taking the green upper bushings out and inspecting, cosmetically they appear to be fine.
As BrownDog say's, it is not exposed to the detrimental fuel that the lowers are, so the OEM upper bushing is far less prone to fail.

A pic of UpperBushing_Rev_A via notsogood bb pic about 1k miles ago (noter the green around the bolt)

Often check the UpperBolt to make sure it is tight - that is the main reason of failure.

Yes, still making these and usually have them in stock.
However, I'm only shipping out every couple of weeks. If your in a big hurry I'll do what I can.

    Have a good ride...

PS - not making the upper tank bolts, just the lower bushings
