    Nice video B-rod! :thumb

I am going to guess that the camera you used was a Hero GO-Pro with the wide angle lens? Very nice quality stuff.

    Just another quick question.

If I was to pick up a used supertrapp stock exhaust for my 2001 Adventure, is it also a spark arrestor?

Not going to spend the extra coin if it's not an SA. I need one for the MT1000 this coming July.

Okay 2 quick questions. Where is the guy that showed pictures of an FMF SA insert that he bought off on an XBXD or something like that on here?

    TIA

There's little action because there is still piles and piles of snow where I really want to ride. This is the flat, bald-ass prairies just outside of where I live. Boring riding, but still riding. I just wanted to try out the camera and iMovie. Test #1.

Nope, VHoldR ContourHD. The mic is terrible, unless you were hoping to pick up hurricane wind sounds. I'll probably cut the mic out, and get a lapel mic and stick it to the back of the housing. What I liked about this camera over the GoPro is that it doesn't sit 6" on top of my helmet. Nice and discrete on the side.

The stock Supertrapp is stamped USFS, as the disc stack must meet the requirements for size, but it does not have the screen type. I am the guy with the Akrapovic that installed the FMF spark arrestor, and it's working very well. It is marginally louder than the Akra with the insert in, but I did my part for the USFS, and I'll lay off the gas when I need to.

    The post is here.

Partshark is less than half the price us Aussies pay over here! Of the Boltons web site, those two parts are Flywheel $479.00 and Stator $340.85.

Looking to convert my 640 to a high fender....
Does anyone know or direct me to a list of parts and info on the conversion instead of spending the TT money.

    Thanks
    for the help

After you do that, and if still not happy, try Osram bulbs via online order, these guys are pretty good rallylights.com or Silvania Silverstars from your local auto store. I run them in my Duc and my pickup and they have been great. Or for even better results, do the Dirty Sanchez!:evil

    Hi all,
So I was putting the bike back together after replacing the slave cylinder piston and O ring and of course an oil change and the screw that holds the neutral switch wire snapped off (I swear I didn't over torque it :rofl ).

Has anyone else done this? It looks like I can back out the hex that it mounts in and replace the whole shebang? Is this the way to go? Anyone got part numbers? Thanks for any help.

    Gerst,

So when I got my bike a bit ago, I noticed the sidestand was loose and rubbing on the swingarm. I tightened it up and it still just barely cleared.

Here's the damage, after I removed the burrs with a fine file!
The lower hole shows signs of being loose for sometime now!

So I got it off, and got to it with the file. Now it looks like this!

And now it fits like this!

I still need to pull the bolts and add some Loctite to avoid similar future issues.

On the good side, I found a decent paint match to at least the SW-Motech powdercoat maybe even the KTM powder. Its Duplicolor's High Performance Wheel Coating in graphite (#WP102)

I, uh, broke my shift shaft....do I have to split the case to replace it? Or can I get to it from the right side somehow?
I am trying not to freak out right now..........
    thanks in advance

Here's mine. Been putting it through the paces ever since I got it new. Same shot kinda. 10,000 fairly hard miles. Love my bike! Gone through 2 sets of the stock Saharas and probably 6 knobbies or so.

    Enjoy!

its an '02 and has 22,000+ on it. unfortunately there is not enough shaft left to weld the shift lever on to. I was hoping i could just remove the clutch cover to get at it...
what else should I do since its going to be opened up?

    thanks for the info

the gurus might have a better list but l would guess

    just in case
    water pump seal
roller bearing the follower ( small one)

    check
look at the valves, piston and rings, crank, rod and bearings

l would read a lot in the 640 index and see what else comes up, it all depends on how its been ridden and taken care

mine was at 24000 and l did intake valves piston/rings and a new sleeve
