    Kia Ora all,

I have a water cooled KDX 250, I would guess 94 - 96 vintage. I have been running it on pre mix because I do not trust the oil pump, the bike is a bit of a hack. The pump works & I would rather run it as intended but I have no idea how to service or calibrate it for my piece of mind. Can any body supply some info or links with diagrams so I can check it?

Yes, I'm a bodger unfortunately, mechanics is not my strong point & I always need guidance, I do everything wrong the first time.... All help appreciated.

If i was you, i would keep it on premix. That way you can be 100% sure your motor is getting oil, and how much it's getting.

My concern is that the pump may be lubricating other parts of the engine, I know bugger all about them & am struggling to get info off the web.
    Cheers for the reply.

If oil disappears from the tank then it reaches rings rods and mains. Monitor fuel vs oil consumption. A ratio will emerge. Who are we to second guess Kawasaki's engineers? Honestly I thought all KDX's never had injectors. Ether way works.

I did not realize kdx's had oil pumps. I thought they were premix right from the factory

Where those bikes road legal? Mine still has the wiring loom on it & a steel tank, everything else is probably lying in the bush somewhere... The motor is basically a KX so I'm told.
