Double Take Mirror- a new (and better) Dual Sport Mirror

I had this same question and he told me that they are really only 1" difference. He went with the longer ones to get the mirror further towards the center when they are folded down and that they offer a little more adjustment to see past your shoulders when they are up. That is what I just ordered. I'll report back after I have tried them out. I am really looking forward to these.

order placed....have a whole box of the alum arms, both long and short. will gimme a chance to experiment for a "non-shoulder" view.

I wonder why not the plastic arms. The website says the they recommend the aluminum ones. I wonder if they do not get enough grip on the mirror's plastic ball.

With the RAM mount these a very adjustable, the glass has great visibility and they fold down and out of the way nicely.

Looks like the standard ones for Kawasaki will fit my Ural. Order placed.

Got mine in the mail yesterday and just put them on. They are even better in person. I am looking forward to seeing something besides my arm pit or my shoulder. Can't wait to take them for a spin.

The "mirror" is the plastic arm and mirror itself, correct??

What is the "reflector"?? Something goes on the back side??

In other words, I do not wanna pay $25 for a piece of plastic, and not have a mirror attached to it. I am hoping the "reflector" is not the "mirror", and more importantly, not something I have to buy extra, really making the mirror $35.

If it is indeed $25 for the mirror, then expect another customer. Its a good concept. If its $35 for the mirror, because I am required to by the "reflector"...which is really the "mirror"...then its just poor marketing and I shall not be a customer.

The mirror is the arm + reflector glass for $25.00.


The components page lists the reflector glass separately for $10 as a replacement if yours should happen to break.

As Region Riley explained, the mirror includes the reflector by default.

The goal of making the glass piece available separately is to do consumers a favor, by making the reflector available in the event it got broken somehow. The arm is guaranteed forever, but if you whack it hard enough, I'm sure it is possible to break the glass (although I haven't done so yet). Making the glass available separately would avoid you having to buy another $25 mirror in that event, when all you needed was the glass insert.

Just to let you know that despite also being named Riley I didn't figure it out like Region Riley did. I thought that the reflector was also some sort of add on. Maybe calling it a replacement part or some such would clarify for the rest of us.

I'll bite. I just broke a mirror on my KLR and the stealership wants $50 anyways. I bought 2.

OK, very good. I did not put two and two together and realize that the " reflector( replacement mirror)" was something you could buy if you broke one...as a replacement......another good idea. ( maybe a webpage change is in order)

I am on my third mirror and still not 100% satisfied...add that to the fact that I have spare Ram mounts from various GPS mounts I have purchased, buying one of these is a no brainer.....so I shall be a customer...with in the next two weeks.

The aluminum RAM arms are more robust. The plastic arms are more likely to break. Both will work, though, but I'm going with the aluminum ones since I've had better luck with those for other applications.
