    Just to add confusion:

This is what my repair manual states:

AH bolt shock absorber top M14x1.5 100 Nm
AH bolt shock absorber bottom M14x1.5 Loctite 243 + 45 Nm

So its an old manual, but i use the torques from it for my -04 unless my normal small manual says differently.

For what it's worth, i safety wire anything likely to cause sadness upon departure.

Strange. My 03-06 shop manual states 80 Nm, top and bottom.

    Actually I feel foolish now...:stoned
I DID find the torque spec page in my shop manual when I finally just flipped through the whole thing page by page. :cromag

BTW 80 Nm top and bottom... no mention of loctite but I greased it and got the bottom back in and threaded BUT-

I'm now trying to sawzall my huge Hex key wrench off so I can fit it into a socket and use my torque wrench. The hex bit socket I ordered unfortunately won't fit into the smaller access hole in my swing-arm:rolleyes

HOLY SHIITE... THAT's SOME HARD FRACKIN METAL

That sounds like something Rick from Motorad Elektrik would say. :lol3

And yes, a roll of stainless safety wire and some trick safety wire spinning pliers, some small drill bits and a Sunday afternoon will help keep much sadness from befalling you.
