    Ok.. big dump coming up!

Well, we woke up to find our self's in a tiny grove in midst a bunch of fields. i got out of the tent and this jogger from Afullah passed by greeting me. we collected the stuff and settled up. We had a good night sleep so i wasn't tired, but my body ached all over and the skin on my hands cracked in several places because of the wind and the dust dried it up.

we decided to head north east through mt Tavor and some fields. i had a rough start of the day and dropped the bike a few times without a particular reason. The road was beautiful and we had a lot of fun riding, hence the lack of pictures from mt Tavor (didn't want to stop to take em'!)

around mt' Tavor we hit this little muddy stream, we didn't check the depth of the water or its bottom consistency and just drove through. Omri was ahead of me and the first one to try passing that tiny creek. While going through he didnt notice an old tire in the water, lost balance and dropped the bike in the mud. I should have taken a picture but instead i jumped in to help him up. After picking it up we found out he broke the clutch leaver (the one we were happy about because how cheap it was). We learn'd two things from this: 1. always check water before going in! 2.buy quality parts only as it does matter out there off the road. Thank god we had a spare clutch leaver with us, and an original Suzuki one to, it didnt brake again. Oh and by the way, when we finally both passed it, while sorting the clutch leaver, we felt a funky smell. we later found out that what it was, was probably some sewage coming out the village located on the mt' not far ahead.

here are some pictures of that stream:

after fixing Omri's bike we ate some canned sardines and pitahs and went ahead. we passed through the tiny Muslim village and kept going on road through Nazareth to this place:

some valley i dont remember its name. We met a guy working for Kakal (kind of like a forester, a ranger sorta job). He tolled us of a nice trail we could take, that was going in our direction and show'd it to us on his map. We thanked the guy and went for his advice. and he was right. the ride was great!

Vinik, a fine report you have here! Doing Israel north to south only on gravel is a great task!
I'll keep reading this post. My advise for you: break the trail routine by looking for some historic places, and spare some time for an important coffee stops...:evil
Have a safe ride (and remember to keep clean places).

drewtherev, THANK YOU for adding my thread to the "worth reading list". It's a real pleasure to see my thread up there!

great photos, Vinik! i'm just wondering, is it possible to hire dualsport bike in Israel? i'd love to ride Israel on gravel trails as well some day, it's just too complicated and expansive to transport bike from europe.... thanks!
