Been invited to spend a week in Breck with my GF's parents. I should have 1-2 days free to rip. Need some advise. I love single track riding. is there enough to bring a plated 200XC, or would I be better off bringing a WR250R? I can ride the WRR on some pretty hairy terrain, and it is obviously more "street legal". Jeep and ATV roads are cool with me, as long as they lead to something challenging. Might try to race the Hare Scramble at Powderhorn (7/20-21), or the DS Single Track ride in Sargents (7/19-21). But might need to stay closer to Breck. Thoughts?
Hey boog, I lived in Breck for seven years and can tell you there are some great trails! Unfortunately most of them are off limits to motorized vehicles. That being said there are great forest roads at almost every intersection if you brought a plated bike. While living there I was really big into mtn biking and many of the trails link off or are part of the forest roads. As a lover of all things two wheeled I say this with a bit of reluctance but it still annoyed/s me being run off the road by motorbikes so be polite. I can't remember the name but I think there is a Summit County OHV club. Try google and see what yo come up with. Some of the forest roads can get pretty gnarly and depending on how late you'll be there some passes may still be pretty wet/snowy. Have fun anyway and take a look at Georgia Pass, may be a good option and could turn it into a full day loop with other passes. I've been to chicken to take my big GS over it. Cheers!

The guys at MotoBreck will have the skinny on all motorized trails. Apparently there are a few good ones. Might be early in the season for some of them. i.e...snow
I would stop by Local KTM Shop and talk to those guys and pick up a summit county map. From there there are a bunch of trails off Tiger Road (North of Town) and French Gulch Road (can connect to directly from in town). Let me know if you want some more ideas, I have been doing a riding trip with a bunch of guys from the east coast every summer in Breck for the past few years.
