This solo seat is a copy of a Denfield Police seat. I made it by cutting the original seat pan down, and had a local upholsterer cut foam and cover it.

Here is the Denfield seat that we copied on my other R75/5:

I find the Police seat a lot more comfortable than the stock seat on my /5. Its softer, even with 40 year old foam.

    Thanks, supershaft.

I made this from the stock seat, original seat pan and original foam. I trimmed about 10" off the back of the pan following the original curve. I then removed 10" from the middle of the foam - attached the front 1/3 of the foam to the back 1/3 (approx.) Did a little scultpting on the bump stop foam and brought it to the upholsterer for some new vinyl.

I just recently picked up a 1981 R80g/s with the standard bench seat. I'd like to convert to a solo seat with rear rack, but I have yet to see one of these in person.

How does the seat come off for access to the tool area? Does the seat come off by itself or does the luggage rack come off as well?

    Thanks in advance !
