    Lotsa opinions about what a cafe racer should look like. Actually, it should look like whatever you want it to look like.

    Me, I think this is a superb-looking machine with a nice blend of retro looks and handling upgrades. Since my Dubya is virtually a stocker, I have to say the shocks, forks, and brakes really sweetens it up for me. :clap

    I don't know. I would never look at this bike and say, "cafe racer." Cool bike, yes, cafe racer, no. Custom-retro-street racer, maybe.

    I have a like new stocker and it's great for my wife. However, I look at it and see all sorts of possibilities for later:evil I personally really like the modern stuff.It would be a great stablemate to a Superduke and an XChallenge....:freaky

    Blownranger, there's a thread in "Blame Baldy" that does a much better job that I could of explaining how to post. That's where I learned . .

    Here's the thread: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=919

    It's pretty easy to put in one or two photos. For a lot of photos, such as a ride report, you probably would want to subscribe to one of the photo hosting web sites the thread discusses. I use photobucket 'cause it's free. OTOH, I get what I pay for. :lol3

    That is really clean! Did you re-clear coat the engine, or is it real low miles? Mine is getting dodgy I'm afraid. I like the Watchless badge, too. We had similar thoughts;

    Just now saw this thread (I need to nose around more often!). Nice write-up on your progress, "The Jerk". Here are a couple of shots of my 2000 model. Mine is still pretty much stock except for a few add-ons. The carb jetting is stock, and the pilot screws have been adjusted. I get only a little popping on decel, and none of the backfires some of you seem to be experiencing. I really have enjoyed this bike.

    Beautiful bike Dualsporter.

    Admittedly most W's are not ridden big miles. I may be the exception. I put 12,000 on mine in about 7 or 8 weeks this fall. The Accolade tires lasted about 5,000. The Bridgestone Spitfire rear tire most recently lasted about 7.The front Bridgestone Spitfire looks like it may go another 7,000. Does anyone have experience with a tire on their W that will last longer? I'm needing a rear tire and thinking about what to replace the Stone with.

    I'm using the Five Star racks from twistedthrottle. I've got a set of GIVI E21's on the way. Love the Memphis Shades windshield. It's called a Roadmaster and works like a champ. Best aero ever on a naked bike using a universal windshield.

    Mine has about 22,000 miles on it. I replaced the stock Accolades at about 5000 miles mainly because I couldn't stand them any longer. Ever since, I've been running H-rated Bridgestone BT-45's. The rear only lasts about 6K and the front maybe 8K. I'm more interested in all-around performance than mileage. I hear the Continental Ultra TKV Sport Classic tires may last longer, but I have no personal experience with them.
