So a few months ago I was snooping and I got inspired by Krime and his ride through the center of Europe. I had 2 weeks off from class in June and decided why not? So it started as a plan to retrace his route solo. As it I happened, I mentioned my plan to 2 buddies and they booked their flights the next day. So there were three of us, lost in Europe, no understanding of French or German, and some sweet BMW bikes (which may have been abused). After hosting Mon the biffy during MotoGP, I decided to put together a ride report in the form of some videos. So instead of typing an essay, check them out. The first video shows how clueless we were in France and gets to the start of the Alps. Not Sure how to Embed it...Be Video 1!
Nice vid of the suisse, but if you're coming to Germany next time, please check out before. I'm a little bit sad that you describe Germany so bad at Youtube, it was a miss that you didn't check the scenic parts of germany (and there are a lot) and did your opinion only because you went a not scenic fast ride through the cross border line of germany/france.
Ah sorry about that BleiFuss. I don't think I said Germany sucked, just the weather on the day I thought to turn on the camera. It was a whirlwind trip and we've been harassed by many a Bavarian (and others) who have chastised us for not exploring all of Germany. But with as short of a time as we had, that was all we could do. We did have a pretty good time in Baden-Baden, but by that point in the trip we were pretty beat. I think Germany will deserve a trip all to itself. Again, I don't think I said Germany sucks. I'm actually quite fond of the people. But the morning we awoke, on little sleep, no coffee, in the rain and coming off adventures elsewhere, I was not in a good mood. Which was the point of the video, not to sell vacations, but to document how we were feeling and doing along the way. What didn't come across in the video, is that even though there were other routes that would have taken us back into France, we all agreed we wanted to stay on the Germany side of the border.
Here's the link with Video 2. And Video 3.
