Another Sunday trip along the mountains of Puerto Rico. I will be posting continuously, so this will take some time...

Today we started in Yauco, PR going up on PR 372. Very narrow and steep road, which is mainly used by locals and by the coffee growers of the region. As I mentioned on my previous post (see signature) this has been a record braking year in terms of rain accumulation. So you'll be able to see on the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7seovdok_s) mudslides, runoffs and deep ruts along the road.

Nice rolling hills give way to steep mountains and the views are stunning!

This is not the first time I've been around this place, but never been able to get inside. I need to come back again and see if they allow me to go in there and take pictures. Interesting place. I'm going to expand my research and post pics of these Haciendas and check other interesting places. Go to the following link to find more info on a well restored place called Hacienda Buena Vista.

Thanks! I have worked hard to upgrade the bike. So, if Honda has forgotten us, we'll use our imagination to suit our desires!

I guess our green is a big contrast compared to your landscape. Being an island with mountains makes it difficult to ride such a beast around on dirt. Most of the dirt roads are closed and it is very limited. There are single tracks but being at almost 450lbs its a no-no. And when you are starting to have fun, you just reached the other coast. You have one of the best, if not the best, playground in the USA and I love to have the opportunity to ride there! We'll see...

    Locorider,
Is a scooter adequate for touring the whole island? Beautiful Transalp btw.

Sorry for the very late response! Yes you can, but I recommend a bigger bike for the highways. But those little 250cc Vespas ride well!

Do you know of any places to rent in PR? I am heading down in July and hoping to see the island on a moto.
    Thanks

Very nice. I did a lot of work in Mayaguez a few years ago. Always loved Puerto Rico and I always wondered what it would be like to explore it by bike. Nicely done.
