Trimmed beaver is good, but nothing beats a beaver that has lost all of it's hair! :D

Knobbies will be a necessity on the tough stuff, but DOT knobbies are recommended because some off-road only tires can't take the heat of the asphalt. My favorite DS combination is a knobby up front and a trials tire on the rear. The trials tire really hooks up on the gnarly hill climbs.

With DS tires you'll be limited to FS roads.

If you don't show up with good knobs (not half worn knobs) then don't go with Twisty's group -

That is assuming you came to ride and not push and be pushed :deal

That's the spirit! You'll know before you get too deep. I've seen a guy on a DRZ SM do it on street tires, so you may be fine. If not, there will be others that won't be able to make it on the hard stuff. Perhaps you can lead a ride on some easier stuff since you know the area.

We usually ride hardest on Friday and then take it a little bit easy on Saturday because everybody is hung over.

Holy Shit! I will NEVER forget that ride! Absolutely terrifying!

Point if No Return would be quite an encore, but it's rock, paper, scissors to see who rides bitch again. At least I've got a chance to be in control next time.

I've got some firewood to bring but it's poplar and won't last long. I'm going to bring as much as I can get in the back of my truck with the bike in there.

Any of y'all who can, bring a little fire wood and I'll bring the gasoline. Y'all know how I like my fires. :evil
