Micatech began manufacturing and selling the Pilot Cases in 2005. In 2009 we developed the V2 cases which are smaller in size yet offer the same quality and durability as the Pilots. They mount using SW-Motech side carriers which allow them to attach to a variety of bikes. The comparison chart below will help you choose which system is right for you.
Here are a few photos of the Micatech Luggage in action. Let's see some of your photos. Pilot Cases V2 Cases Top Case
Here's where we'll keep track of what's going on in the thread. __________________________________________________________ V2 Price Reduction:$200 savings!. __________________________________________________________ Need more tie down points? Easy cary handle? Roof Racks are in stock and available: $65/pair available in black or silver. And on page 3 we have a backrest prototype.
I'm looking to pick up a set of V2 cases for my 800GS, will you be attending the BMW RA rally in Vermont in July? Thanks for the offer of free pannier liner bags.. those are really useful and aid in keeping the panniers well organized.
Great I'd also like to get the reflective set that mounts to the panniers, goes on black and shines white... if you can bring a set for me, that would be great! I plan on installing the panniers at the rally and save on shipping and cross border taxation and brokerage fees.
I recently got a pair of these. They are the best I have ever seen. Well made, functional and good looking. Plus, you will like the way your bike looks when you are not using them. If you are thinking of getting a higher end set of bags, check these out. Even keeps your containers from tipping over while you are hydrating. I haven't crash tested them yet, but I am sure that is coming. That is why I needed new ones, those BMW units did not like the stress of single track screw ups. Damn scorpions! I was going to get a set of Jessie's and then I saw a pair of these up close. Changed my mind, glad I did. Oh yeah, and they are even well-made in the town that swallowed the BMW bags in one bite, how is that for karma? It was destiny.
Shrineclown, we're glad to hear they are working well. We'd love to see some photos. You mentioned the cup holders, here's a shot of them hard at work in Mexico:
These are great people to work with. I rode to their shop with a friend. Bob, the owner, supervised as we mounted the hardware and boxes. 1.5 hours for the whole procedure.
Gaah! I just bought a set and didn't see the promo until now!! *sigh* Despite that, I'm happy with the bags. I would recommend getting the locks right away (for the F800GS, not sure how it works on the 1200) since it would only take a quarter to steal them, and you'd save a bit on shipping if you get them at the same time. ~Grinzold
Bob was nice enough to come in on a Saturday on his way to the Whitehorse open house so I could pick up my panniers. They went on quite easily and the side loading is super. I have had Jesses in the past and these are much easier to use. I just found this thread, is it too late to get the free bag liners?
