These guys were doing such a great job with their daily reports -- great writing, photos, maps -- its probably too much to keep up after long days in the bike. You gotta be able to take the time to just enjoy being on the trip... Like others, i sure enjoyed the material they posted.

I am fascinated maybe not so much by the trip itself, but the fact that at some point the poster said they weren't motorcycle guys. Huge amount of work went into the researching , purchasing gear and actual riding of the TAT. I get the sense this was a well thought out and executed mission. I hope they come back and finish the report, but I think they may have "moved on".

My question is what's next? And maybe what have you done in the past, that was like this? Pure curiosity. I know a lot of people have a hobby or two they are passionate about and I know a few people who love to learn about something and research all the nuances and feel they have conquered the challenge then move on to the next challenge. My guess is that the challenge was completed and on to the next...?

Great report so far. Would selfishly like to see it completed too.

I SUSPECT...

As they were self professed none motorcycle guys, they shant be back. I am surprised, however, that they would go to such lengths to join, write that rr, and then ditch out. I wonder why they bothered coming in and writing at all if they are not motorcycle guys.

Ah well, such is life.

I was hoping they'd upload some of the video they took.

Fascinating read - right up to where it stopped!

"motorcycle guys" or no, they are definitely adventurers. Heck I've been a rider since 1977 but I can't boast an epic trip like this.

Hope everything is OK with them and probably they are back to work, school, etc. with a memory of an awesome trip.

What a great report with many great pictures. Had started reading before I left for my trip the 15th and just finishing it now. I really don't like doing ride reports but love to read them, so, the few I do , I call pay back for the fine ones I read on Adv website. Been many years since my TAT adventure but, just through Arkansas and then just meandering on back roads to Colorado where I was back to Sam's Maps and Roll Charts. But, this was back in '99 and '00 on a DR350 for the 1st half of Arkansas then a KLR650 for the rest. I'm sure the route has change much since then.
May-be, just may-be , the report will get finished. Hmmmmm That said, I still have several days left to do on mine. Sigh!
