Ok hers my auto story.

I'm in Texas racing endures and cross country. My bike is broke but one of my riding buddies has this new 78 360 Auto.. just like the one in the pic (I bow to JM on the year)...
I rode it in two enduros. DNFed both with no transmission. Other than that the bike was great and way ahead of its time.

I wonder if anyone ever finish a race on one?

I think it's a modern Triumph Scrambler or Bonneville that's been modified a bit.

Very unusual bike characteristics, and solid, except when parts are needed for auto transmission.
I'd still like to have it. I have a soft spot for old Huskys and other old dirt bikes.

I knew one of you POGs would come along and ID that bike for me. A Husky auto...heard of 'em, never seen one in the flesh before.

My guess is a Triumph Scrambler too...but what do I know, I'm just a Random Dipwad

I wish, but it's just a business trip. I took the ferry from Tsawwassen (peninsula just south of Vancouver, BC) over to Victoria and then drove up the island to Campbell River where my customer is at. It's a great drive to a great little town.







I would be able to see see the Alaska ferry (Bellingham-Ketchikan) out my hotel window when it goes past, if I knew when to look!

Working @ Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama on Bucky's Bar equipment.

Talking to bar tender about those bottles of whiskey locked up beside the top shelf stuff.

Tells me the Louis VIII is $300 a shot glass and the person buying the last sho out of the bottle gets the empty valued at $800.

Well, digging around in my boxes of pictures for the reunion, I found two that belong here.

This one is a Road Toad that belonged to Reg back in the 70s.


A head-on crash in the woods of Quintete resulted in a totaled out Road Toad and a RM250. Reg walked away from this one, but the fella on the RM had pieces/parts of the Road Toad in his leg.


And this one is from the very first organized Monroe County ride.



I could only take one picture because the fella was in such agony.
I think his name was Shoemaker and haven't seen/heard from him since.
Showing up with a bike that won't crank, then asking for a tow.
Resulted in a broke foot and a ride to the hospital in a ambulance.

Saints preserve us from ourselves.
Amen.

This really hurts P-DUB 1 less Road Toad to make fun of.

Visit Shiloh Battlefield today.

A little over 151 years ago this place was a nightmare.
Lots of mass graves.
Of the 1728 confederate dead some are resting here:





Spotted a buzzard nest on the battlefield with parents and young in that tree.

Went on a tour of the George Dickle distillery and got a autographed Barrel Select from the master distiller.


We'll crack it open at the next PAR event.


A few miles away and we watched the trials event.

Those fellas are unreal riders and most seem to talkin Mexican or Cuban,,,,I think.

Like magic, they go up impossible obsticals.

Like me,,,,,they wash their bikes when they get a little dirty and ride on what looks like Kenda 270 tires.

Not ONE knobbie tire to be seen anywhere:
