Interesting discussion, I was just starting to shop for some tires to have as backups. I know it is on the order of what oil do you use, but what are you guys running?

I really like the D606, but I'm being a cheapskate these days...

That's what is on the dirt wheels now and I've liked them for the minimal I've done so far.

I'm inclined to agree with dunerat and just find the cheapest out there. Where is the best place to get dirt tires? I've been buying street tires for so long, I've not a clue.

    NOT the tire question again...

    KTM 525 Dunlop MX71 120/90x18@ 16psi or Pirelli MT 31 4.00x18x18rear trials @ 12psi Dunlop MX71 100/90x21front @ 15psi.

Or whatever I can find a good deal on.:lol3

My local Yamaha shop D&E give me some nice take offs when they have em'.

Yeah I know it's a dangerous one to ask, but since the trials tire bit came up...

Anyway, the D606 is kinda pricey and although they last really well, I very rarely ride this thing on the street, I just put the 'tard wheels on for that action. So I want a dirt cheap dirt tire that if it lasts only a few hundred in the dirt, I'm OK with that.

But if they are on par with the cost of the D606, I'll just get a set of those as they are a known quantity for me. My goal is to keep a set at about $100. :hide
