Once again I am pleased to share that serial Dakar finisher and ex-pat Aussie is returning to the Dakar for the 9th time. This year he'll be riding for Husqvarna UK and has decided it's a good idea to take some support. His website is live, but still undergoing some testing and has a few little bugs that I am slowly working out, web design is not my forte! Hopefully we will be able to bring you some great coverage before and during the race again, as per 2011 Dakar, we are working on a little series of videos to do just such as well as providing some decent imagery and a little insight into the inner workings of his bike and the Dakar. Here are a few pictures to get you excited, also check out the site as well for any new updates!
Cool, will be rooting for Si come january... Is he running a SpeedBrain kit on the Husky or the Bianchi Pratta? edit: OK your new picture gave me the answer, the Bianchi Pratta it is
They're a Portuguese team that race but have also developed a rally kit for the newer generation 449 / 511 huskies Google them, they do large tanks, nav towers, bash plates and fairings for sale to privateers
Simon's efforts have been fun to follow and I look forward to a new Rally year and challenge for him...
Great news. The Huskies look like they're shaping up as more of a force out of the ashes of the BMW Rallye heydays. Fellow Aussie Matt Fish is also on one in Maroc later this month. Will watch with enthusiasm...and
Simon was due to ride a bmw in the condo750 down here in 2011. The bike had electrical issues and he did not race, but spectated instead. With a couple of familiar faces. (c) me.
