...bunch a' whiners... Sipapu to San Yo is 3 hours.

now, Sipapu to Farmington is almost 5 hours...oh no now I'm a whiner too!! :rofl

Be worth it to cultivate "new" (to those not in the club in '75) riding areas.

    cheers

The good news, for those of you who don't drive to Farmington often, is that 550 is four lanes the from Farmington to Albuquerque.

In our bicycle racing days we tried to observe a balance where we would not spend more time on the road than in the race, like driving to Yuma eight hours each way for a pair of criteriums 30 minutes each. That was an excellent trip, in retrospect -- one of our pals crashed and sanded off half his skin, and then lost our five-year-old daughter while babysitting half snockered the next day...

But talk to an enduro racer. Drive sixteen hours through the night to Nebraska, or Texas; compete five hours. Get back in the truck, drive sixteen hours, go to work on Monday mornning. Makes trials travel seem tolerable.

Doods, let's do a trials in Farmington!

I'm not debating the drive to Farmington...no issues here. If we set one, I'll be there! :deal I'm just questioning the area in pappa_j's photos and wondering if it would be worth pursuing through NMTA as a possible event site in the future. The terrain looks awesome! I don't know what kind of facilities or parking/camping are there or if it could be permitted for an event. Surely that area would draw from the Colorado crowd as well!

Here're pics from section 7, a few from section 6, and some from section 8. I did better at not getting just front wheels this month! Scoring is more fun while taking pictures, for those multi-tasker fanatics/ easily bored among you!

Just awesome. You guys got all the sunshine, all the blondes, all the rocks. And now even the Smage, screwing around on a toy bike in the New Mexico sunshine, remembering what he likes about this life.

    See you in a month.

Brewtus, you can rotate those sideways pics, or just not turn the camera...:rofl
